Ok, i'd like to share how I scammed an account, maybe it will give ideas to some of you, but I stumbled upon it completely out of the blue while trying to cover up my tracks for another scam... I dont suggest you try this scam unless you find a way to perfect it, i'm just p utting it out there for you all to see so you might get ideas.
OK, So it started out, I was just scamming noobs using the /dnd account name password trick, but I had only gotten low level accounts so far, so I decided, lets try something a bit bigger. I whispered a 66 shadowpriest and tried it on them.. they immediately said "I have just opened a ticket, you will be banned soon I assure you"
Well, I was pissed because I was dumb enough to do this scam on my main account so I had to think fast. They were being a jerk about it constantly whispering me saying "You'll be banned soon, say bye to WoW nub" so I knew I had to do something horrible to this person.
I decided to try an old favorite... the fake a GM deal.
I did
"Please dont scam me! "[spaced all the way over til i couldnt see type] then put
<GM> [Pontheus]: Hello!... this is GM Pontheus, How is your day today in the World of Warcraft? I understand you have a ticket open for someone trying to scam your account. Unfortunately, we have been having a lot of issues and are backed up at the moment. I would like you to send your problem to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
[that is a hotmail account i made really fast to fake this guy out]
I will respond to your email ASAP. Please close your ticket and resume playing. =]
Well, the guy was just stupid enough to try it.
Thinking he was all powerful over me he psts me going "HA! a GM just responded to my ticket and I am emailing him the screenshot right now, you're done!"
He also told me he closed the ticket etc.
So I start putting on a little act "Please dont send it! please!"
well this just helped me even more because it made him want to ban me more and more.
Later I get the email and respond saying "This is substantial evidence to ban the person trying to scam you, thank you for being considerate of the safety of other players."
Then I sent him this:
There is one more step in the process of your ticket, please fill out this short questionairre.
How fast was your ticket served?
Was your GM helpful and considerate?
State the average time you waited for your ticket.
Account Name:
Account Password:
Email:
Full Name:
He smartened up on this one... he replied saying "When i log into the game it says that no one will ever ask for your password if they are from blizzard, i am confused"
Me: Well, technically, you are not sending it to me, you are sending it through our computer which will process it and file it in our records, have faith that no person will see your account info unless the E-mail gets through the scanner unchecked. Thank you, I would try to find an alternate way to do this, but no one has ever asked before."
He fell for it
so now i have his Account name, Email, full name
i had his password but I was stupid and changed it too quick... he got it back via email, but when i was logged in I saw he had a 70 hunter in addition to his Shadowpriest.
If anyone can, messsage me telling me how I can get his account or players for good using all this info.

OH! and by the way, while I was on the account, I sold all their shadowpriests gear, and bought a feral druid staff, a bunch of +fire spell damage gear, equipped it all to them, then got stupid enchants such as +15 agi to gloves, +15 spirit chest, 50AP 15CR to pants etc.... stuff that would be totally stupid to put on a shadowpriest. deleted their hearth, filled all their bags with "Recipe: Sagefish Delight"'s and took their guy in the middle of the ocean and drowned myself... told you i'd do something "evil" to that jerk.
by the way, he now has +176 fire spell damage and +564 attack power in bear cat and moonkin forms only =]
then, i decided to mess em up even more, I respec'd until they had no gold left, [got up to 55g to respec] and then left them with the stupidest spec ever, with all the horrible things randomly scattered in every spec, i made sure to have 41 points in shadow and NOT get shadowform too =]

You have all the information you need to call blizzard and pretend to be this guy.
You just need to tell them that your account was hacked and you think your e-mail on the account was too cause you can't log in. give them the old information. They might ask for SQ/A but say you made the account so long ago you don't remember. And just provide e-mail, full name, account name and what the password was (last you knew). If you are sincer sounding and beileveable they will change the accounts e-mail for you and then you can ask that they send you a NEW reset password to that e-mail account later.
I do suggest you wait awhile before requesting a reset. Do the call in to get it changed to your e-mail. wait an hour then call back and you'll have a different customer service guy. Ask him for the password reset. He will most likely ask for SQ/A but play dumb like you forgot it and that you for sure are the OO of the account.
9 times out of 10 the customer service people will blindly do anything for you if you play it cool and act genuine.

So he can't do much more than deleting his chars and harres him (Allthough I find it extremely stupid to scam an account just for the fun of it and dont use it)

If the account doesn't use CC for subscription but uses gamecards.. he can. Sure it's a shot in the dark.. But what's he got to lose at this point?
Besides from why would he want that account back? From the sounds of it he wrecked it. meh w/e, point is there are ways to get the account back. depending on how you go about it and how good your social skills are.. I have done it before on accounts I never even logged into. Just knowing the name on account e-mail on account and a little about the person can get you alot. Social hacking. It's not all code and backdoors.

Try login in to hes email with the hes wow password, some people are just stupid enough to have the same password for email and wow account

Well, I know for a fact he uses a credit card. I can always say its my mommy's and she is not home. =]
He uses his mothers name for the account too, and his mothers email, so unless its like his wife's most likely he's a kid.
By the way, I dont just scam the accounts for fun... b ut this guy was being stupid so I decided to mess with his guy just in case he got it back... now he keeps spamming my fake email with GIV ME MAI GEAR BAK.
