Possible Free items and Gold through Mail - 12-14-2007

This is a very basic scam, that is dependent on luck but you only have to check once every 30 days if you want. It's my first post in the scam section so just trying to find something to contribute. I apologize if it has been previously posted, and some of you may view this as common knowledge.

On your server, or a very populated one if your server is dieing, go to the Auction House and search for Enchanting Mats, Herbs, Ore, etc. Things that are often gathered and that people buy out and try to corner the AH with.

For example: You see that every Void Crystal is being sold by the same guy.

99% of the time these are bank alts or level 1's for various people and or guilds.

What you do is create a level 1 of your own with a common mis spelling of the name, or leave off a character at the end, just use your head and pick something that could easily be a typo of that persons name.

For example: The Auction House Whores name is "Goods"
You create and alt named "Good"

Now when someone makes a mistake when they type in the name and mail off mats to their alt, instead of it saying "player not found" or "player does not exist" you will receive them in your new alt's mailbox!

This is very "human-error" dependent but I have had success a few times on my server.

Common Sense? Yes, but still useful for those not thinking about it.

Everyone I know, including myself has their bankalts on their friendlists so that they can easily mail stuff with just typing one letter... nice idea though

I had a very similar idea because I had a problem of accidentally sending it to a non-existing character. I added my bank to my friends list and obliviously haven't ha that problem since. If the guy your taking the name of has done this for awhile, he would do the same thing.

the only thing i see wrong about this is that if they have that character in there friends list it wud automatically put there name in as the reciver but the ones who dont and mispell it wud be rly nifty considering this doesnt take much time at all
