This a trick i used for a while pre BC with rare items and patterns on the AH to get a lil extra gold
basically you put the item up for auction w/ around double the normal asking price for b/o and 1/2 the asking price for the bid. put it on medium or short (makes it look like its been there a while)
anyways, you go make an alt or use a character with some gold to spare and bid on it, now you wait till you get outbid then slowly but surely you can raise you price and sometimes the other person(or ppl) will end up buying it out on accident jst so they can win the bidding war (lol seen it too many times to count)
if the other person(or ppl) gives up jst let the time run out and all you'll have lost is the AH cut which can be easily made back with less than 10 mins work with a daily. so you can try again, however i suggest to put the item up again on a diff char the 2nd time just in case
