Reputation: 134 | | | How safe a scam would this be? I realize that you are not supposed to post questions in this forum, but if i can get this one question answered, this could be a GREAT scam. Here is the scam
I scammed Vovgame.com for free game time using their mastercard, now, such software exsists that checks the credit card numbers to see if they are legit and it tells you. My question is, could they take legal action agianst you if you were to use that credit card number to purchace gold for your self? I don't think they would be BECAUSE that sort of a trial would draw blizzards attention, so i doubt they could, but i would like some oppinions please, thank you. | Donate to remove ads, get your "DONATOR title, and get access to the MMOwned community's elite Shoutbawx.

If its a big company that actually has some kind of lawyer, I'd say yes, they would take legal action, Blizzards attention has nothing to do with it, you're using their money. Also, some of these sites will most likely call their bank and cancel the transaction.
EDIT: I dont see how some software could check a coded credit card unless it can go through a big series of proxies in Blizzard's servers to check what the number was when written in, unless they actually give you their number, which seems unlikely.

Them filing a lawsuit towards you for using their credit card will NOT draw Blizzards attention. Also, if Blizzard wanted to close these gold selling sites they would have already, but I haven't studied law, so I'm not sure if it's illegal selling virtual items in a game, I could see it being that way, I mean, everything in the game belongs to Blizzard, it even says so in the TOS and all that shit.
Anyways, the answer to your question is YES, and you do NOT wanna get charged with Fraud. Although, there's one flaw, and to your advantage, how would they know its you using the card? :P |

Even if you went through a shit load of proxies and had ip randomizers if they went to the cops they could still get your ISP and then they could back trace your browsing. so if thy do you better a)go into registry and deletenyour internet history. and B) hope to god someone else uses proxies a lot in your neihbourhood. |

Atleast, i suppose you didnt bought gold for like $1000000 from them? | You would absolutely go to jail for scamming $10. Your crime won't be grand theft, but it does involve a computer. In this country (USA) that's a federal crime and would get you into serious trouble. Any scam where you are taking somebody's money by using your computer and their credit card is going to potentially RUIN YOUR LIFE. Think about all the hype with identity theft and credit card theft over the internet. Being convicted of a felony will follow you forever.
Besides, they aren't worried about blizzard trying to stop their operation because they would have done it already. Blizzard isn't blind or stupid, they read this website just like you do and have Google just like you do. If you piss them off and have their card number in your possession, they will bust you.

Considering that many of the powerleveling companies are not based in America (China) they proly would not go thru the trouble of oversees legal action for 10$-50$ considering that there company is not legal in the first place | |
