Alright I know there is a ton of posts about this old and common scam. My way to do it is different and give better results, trust me.
1. First of all, you will need one of your friend to do this. What you have to do is put whatever item you want to sell on AH, auction it on YOUR char , you have to stay online also ( I will explain later ).
2. Now that the item is on AH , you tell your friend to spam in the trade channel '<<WTB ' item ' paying well PST >>' . Do not name a price because people will notice that it is cheaper on AH and they will just say it in trade channel and noone will buy it.
3. Most people know this scam so usually they will look who is the seller and they will check if he is online ( to make sure the guy who wanna buy that item is not the seller on his alt). So since you are both online the guy will prolly think your friend really want to buy the item and he will be less suspicious.
4. He will prolly send you a tell asking you <<How much are you paying for '' item '' >> . Don't say ' xxx gold ' right ahead , wait , start with << You got one to sell ? >>, he will tell you he does and when he says this , tell him << For how much would you let it goes ?>> Saying this will make it look more credible. If he says<< I don't know give me a offer '>> Say something like : << I was thinking around '' 15g higher than what it is on AH '' but I would go up to '' 20-25g higher than what it is on AH '' what do you think ? >>
5. If he accept and tell you to meet him for the trade, tell him << Sure where do you want us to meet ? >> then he will just tell you where ( he should have bought your item on AH at that time ) .
6. Now, whisper your friend and ask him if his Auction sold. If he says yes , whisper the guy and tell him <<Sorry man ,I just found somoene that is selling me the item for '' 20-30g cheaper than what you were gonna pay '' >>. If your friend tells you that the item did not sell ,,, that mean the guy prolly had it already so just tell him the samething and run away safty.
You might ask what is different in this AH scam than all the others ? In this scam you look a way more CREDIBLE. It might seems long cause of all the text but it take around 1-2 mins to do it depending on how fast the guy type.
Anyways thats it ,, use it or not, I don't really care , I just wanted to give you a lil tip on how to make this scam work better.
