As I'm sure most of you know, the 2.3 PTR was recently made available for testing. I thought of a way to get money from guildies and friends on the live server with reasoning by the PTR server.

Doing this will undoubtedly give you a bad reputation on your server.

There are a lot of items on the PTR that cost a good amount of gold, and I started asking guildies if I could hold their gold on my character while my transfer went through. I have a good reputation with my guild and my server, so of course a lot of people lent me gold to hold, and I ended up with about 20000 gold by the time I transferred to the PTR.

Not being a scammer, I gave them back their gold, but I thought some of you might want to put this idea to more evil uses, like keeping all the lent gold and possibly server transferring.

if you are already thinking of transfering, and you really hate your server, do it! they will never see you again, and you can even change the character name at arrival. but if you like your guildies, or are not trasnfering then dont do it, you'll end up being hate by everyone, and be KoS

Yeah I'd only keep the gold if I was planning on transferring my character to a new server, which I'd probably never do since more than 10 of my RL friends play on Frostwolf with me

I love my guild Only way I will do this is er.. make a character on a NEW realm, level him a bit, join a guild and gain trust ... Still..very...evil...

there is a big flaw in this scam the fact that you ask for then to lend you the money they can report you and you will get suspended and the gold will be given back, what you can do is say that if you can have gold for the PTR and thats all. then you can keep it without getting in trouble

You're character that was scammed didn't happen to be a warlock did it? If so then I think I was the guy who scammed you lol sorry
