As a fun little trivia: this is commonly done by people on subways and such in most big cities around the world...
not by hoboes but by common people dressed as hoboes..

I used to do it before I got my, now, much sexier actual work.

i think it's better to level untill lvl 8/10
and then say:"hey !, can i please loan 1g ? to buy my new skills ? i will pay you back if you insist !"
they mostly say something like: "you don't have to pay me back, i have 500g"

now send the money to ur main, and VOILA !

haha, i ask the high lvl to help me first a bit, and then level, and say can u help me grind sum money for nu skillz pleasE?...always works...sometimes they will grind with u, get bored, give u a load of money, and say this will get u thru the game...i done it once and got 570 gold of sumd ruid in khadgar

Lol i made a lvl 1 warrior named homeless and sat him down in front of the bank sign in org. Havnt had much luck yet the top ive gotten is 1g my server must be a bunch of jerks and one guy even said he was gonna report me for my name! ill update u on that

Edit: also to keep ur reputation good in the server give out advice and always be polite. i had some noob thinking i was an npc

This also works best if you wait by your class/a proffesion trainer. If you politely ask higher levels who come to train (Maybe Blacksmith bit in the center of IF. Alot of guild crafters (alliance) use that) if they could spare a few silver (depending on your level) for new skills/stuff.

The trick is, you don't want to ask for too much, because then they'll
[A] Be greedy, and want to keep the cash
[b] Realise you don't need that much for skills/stuff at that level.
(EG, 1g at level 10 for skills = unfeasable, skills are 10/15s max then. But, 2/3g at level 40ish, it seems like a low amount for some skills, because they can cost up to 3/4g)
