This is a simple guide on all the scam methods and how to prevent them.
1. Phishing- this is the most common type of scamming. It is when the scammer redirects the player to a site that looks like an official Blizzard site and has you log onto the site and it will give your info to the scammer.
How to prevent phishing: Do not go on any websites or give your account info to any site that is not posted on [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

2. TCG Scamming- this is no longer possible thanks to Blizzard.
How to prevent TCG Scamming: Do not use time machines.

3. Profession Raep- This is when a scammer uses another players profession link to get your materials. This is very common among low level players.
How to prevent Profession Raep:
Make sure the player is the appropiate level
1-75: Level 5-80
1-150: Level 10-80
1-225: Level 25-80
1-300: Level 30-80
1-375: Level 52-80
1-450: Level 65-80
Make sure they link you there profession level twice.Once when you ask for it and again before they make the item. Scammers usually only save the link once.

4. WoW mounts -When a scammer redirects the player to a site with "new" world of warcraft mounts.
Prevention: Do not go to Any sites not linked on World of Warcraft.com

5. WoW Movie- When a scammer redirects the player to a World of Warcraft: Movie site. This is a scam. They will whisper you in game.
Prevention: Once again, do not go to any sites you do not know.

6. Keylogger- this is when a scammer tries to get you to download a link.
This virus is like a ninja, it will just sit there until it gathers all your info and then will attack.
Prevention: Do not download any suspicious links.

Also Emails are a source of getting your account scammed.

Corey come on now....lol....this isnt ALLL scams, i meen u forgot so many its not even funny, like paypal scams involving wowaccount selling, and gold selling, aswell as many ohers
I got whispered a phishing scam tonight and just replied "nice phishing site there, caught anything yet?" I then informed my guild and apparently they had sent that out to everyone in the guild and a couple of them almost fell for it.
