Here's how it goes: no US law is broken through account scamming unless money is involved. TECHNICALLY, impersonating Blizzard (the scam page and the e-mail phishing scam) MAY be considered illegal, but there's a 99.9999% chance you would never get prosecuted for it. Now, if you were to sell tons of accounts you've stolen for thousands of dollars each week, you may eventually find someone who reports it...the FBI will investigate it and you may actually be charged, go to trial, and possibly be incarcerated (at least a fine). The chances of this happening? Pretty damn low. But if you're making TONS of money off of it, you may be risking yourself. This is why I never involve any money in my scams, it just gets complicated. I just play the accounts I scam, or trade them (to play them). |
