Hey guys. The most important thing: Only use Firefox
OK. Then lets start.
Firefox is one of the safest browser wich are available at the moment.
You can get it here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Once you installed it: Go to this page, and download that addon: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] It's named "NoScript" and it blocks a lot of scripts, like Javascript, Flash and everything that could be executed. If you now visit a safe site, like Google or MMOwned, you usually can go to the Top-Bar and press "Allow everything" that no objects on the site are blocked.
It also blocks Cross-Site-Scripts (Executing scripts from other sites)
If you now go to some website you dont know first let everything blocked untill you know its trustworthy.
OK. If you THINK you are affected / infected with a Keylogger. Download that program: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] its called "HiJackThis" it scans almost every process you are running on your computer. In the internet there are a lot of forums wich can analyze your Log-Files for FREE and tell you whats up and what you have to do. If its a simple keylogger you can just check the Box infront of the file and press "Fix files" this will autmatically Stop the prozess and delete it forever. NEVER USE THIS ON FILES YOU DONT KNOW because this could damage important System files.
If the infection still isn't gone, backup every file you have got on your PC to an external drive and delete everything that is executable (Mostly .exe or .bat or some else) Now format your Harddrive and reinstall your OS.
But this is only necessary if its a real problem like I had
Always have >>>ONE<<< AntiVirus program running (2 would block themselves and maybe kill your system), Always run >>>ONE<<< Firewall! (Free ones aren't as good as paid ones) and additionally you can run a extra Guard program like [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
OK. That was far away from scamming -.- more basic computer safety but I hope this has helped you.
PS: Never go to suspicious Sites, or ANY Site wich you were linked to in WoW!
PPS: If you want to go extremly sure that the site you are on is not a phisher, just check the sourcecode and the URL. There might be some suspicious parts
I hope this helped. Sorry if not
