Read all of the below before commenting!!!
When the scam section was first to be found in the Forum index on MMOwned it was made so people could post their ingame tricks on how to fool other people for ingame gold by doing harmless things such as:
Creating a female nightelf and dance for gold or remove the extra digit just at both parties press the trade button.
The other purpose of the section was that people could read it and therefore not be a victim of their own stupidity for puny ingame tricks. It was never meant to be what it is today, therefore we are bringing the following changes to The scam section(s) to make it into a whitehat scamming section Starting immediately NO PHISHERS
NO SERVICES
NO FAKE IDS
NO WEBSITE SCAMS
NO FRAUD
NO GIVEAWAYS
NO SCAM HELP
NO PLAGIARISM (Look it up, you know how to use a dictionary)
NO QUESTIONS (Does this look like the place? No)
NO REPOSTS
NOTHING such as scamming PAYPALS, KEYLOGGERS, THEFT, HACKING, or anything else illegal, or deemed illegal by the staff.
This section is being turned into what it was MEANT to be, a Scamming PROTECTION section ("Whitehat" scamming).
NEW THREADS NEEDS TO BE APPROVED BY A MODERATOR BEFORE BEING SHOWN ON THE FORUM 
Whitehat? What does this mean to me?
As a poster in scams section this means that you are still able to create post as long as they are inside the limits of the new rules. However you will need to provide the means to detect it, avoid it and otherwise negate it.
Any posts that do not stick to these guidelines will be not be approved.
Now with that said, enjoy these changes and I hope you will enjoy your clean slate.

May it be for the best, and I hope that everyone follows the rules
[God knows moderation will be on overkill mode here for the next week or so]
Edit: Might I suggest that you do a massive /close on a bunch of these top 3 page threads if they are currently in 'violation' of the new rules?

But i agree with you, i think it's a good way to only have more or less harmless scams and protections in this section. |
