Name Change Scam

Hiya all,

Here's a new scam i came up with when i was farming on my alt.

We all know that Blizzard has strict policies about naming your character. Ive read the Naming policies again and im amazed about how many things aren't allowed.

To tell you quickly, things like this arent allowed :


Highly Inappropriate
Names which fall under the following categories are deemed to be highly inappropriate.

• Paedophilia
• Racial/Ethnic
• Sexuality/Violence
• National
• Sexual Orientation
• Obscene/Vulgar

Names that have anything to do with these things will be promted to change their name and will most likely be given a 3day ban and be given a warning.

And then you have Medium inappropriate names:

Moderately Inappropriate
Names which fall under the following categories are deemed to be mildly inappropriate. Clarification on what constitutes each category can be found by clicking on the links below.

THATS A LOT OF TEXT INDEED, BUT NOW THE OTHER PART :

So what i did was, i had a character named Buddha. I told my friend to report me and in no time a GM Contacted me. This is how it went:

GM: Hi Buddha, This is GM<Whatever>, Sorry to interrupt your gameplay but can i have a moment of your time regarding someone else's ticket?
Me: Sure, whats up?
GM: Another player has reported your name to be inappropriate.
Me: Really? :O
GM: *Nod* Im sorry to inform you that you are promted to change your name next time you login.
Me: That's ok, its your job after all :P
GM: Thank you for your understanding, is there anything else i can help you with now im here?
Me: No thanks, have a good day.
GM: I wish you a nice day in Azeroth. Blablablabla and something more.

I didnt care that much, was a dumb name anyway.

So what i did, is opening my nice addon called Lootlink and started to Link stuff like. WTS [Enchant Weapon : Mongoose] and [Tailoring: Spellstrike Hood] and started to scam like a madman. I earned about 6000 gold from mats and quitted WoW. Logged back in and was promted to change my name. So i called myself <something way different than Buddha>. Logged in and saw people saying: OMG BUDDHA SCAMMED ME ARGH. I tried adding Buddha to my friends list, but he didnt excist :X

So there you go. Scammed lots of mats/gold and no one knows it was you. This was a week ago and i didnt get any reports/warnings/mails from blizzard or whatsoever.

:S Blizzard will have a log of a gm telling you to change your name,
then under your account in their database there will be a string saying Bhudda changes name to "what ever your changed it to". Good luck not getting banned

Hell if this is a EU server you probaly wont even get a 3 day suspension, lazy frenchies

lol thats a pretty good one, but can't blizzard still find you, if the guy reported to a GM that a guy named buddah stole your stuff, dont they have records of name changes?

Like i said in the post, i havent got banned after a week. And yes im on EU servers.

so blizzard wont promote all those horribly scary names that most kids dont even understand but they will promote a dead guy with 2 daggers stabbing another guy in the back 50 times then eating his corpse after he is done killing a bunch of midgets and spitting on them so what will the 10 year old do after he's seen all that.

FYI the first character I made was named Dwarfrapist.
