[SCAM GUIDE] Improve your income with the Spectral Tiger Mount scam
Okay, this guide is just designed to help people be more efficient at scamming gold. It's not meant to teach you how to scam, and some of you will think that it's just common sense. That's fine, but I’m not looking to get flamed, so if you get the urge to tell me how much I suck, please, feel free to kiss my ass.
Anyway, here’s just a selection of hints and tips to help out you’re in-game scams. These hints are targeted mainly at TCG Loot Card scams, but some can we used anywhere I spose. And if I say anything that’s been said in some other guide somewhere else on the interwebz, forgive me...
Edit: CMON GUYS! Over 1000 views, surely a few of you could atleast SAY THANKS if you found this helpful?!
1: One person is easier to trust than several...
Firstly, I’ve seen guides around the site that suggest acting like a company and being VERY formal, even acting like the first few replies should seem automated. In my experience, people feel far more alienated that way. All the times I’ve successfully scammed gold, it’s been when I’ve acted like the 1, dumb kid, wanting to make some gold.
Also, this applies to your excuses. When someone asks “How did you get the code” stay far, FAR away from the excuse “A friend gave it to me.” It makes the mark seem insecure, as if they’re talking to two people sitting in a room. It sounds silly, but even mentioning another person can make a mark uneasy.
2: Lots of little is as good as little of lots...
I get people whispering me asking me how much I scam per loot card. Personally, I prefer the Tiger scam. Now, I used to ask for 10k – 8k per Tiger, and most of the time ended up doing half first, then /ignore-ing. Because of the amount of people who would whisper me offering only 800g or the like, and me saying it was too low, I only made around 10-15k an hour. At one point however, I got a bit annoyed with the amount of people tell me that 6k was too much. So I just started accepting less than 1k.
You’ll find that a few people just ask you so see what price you agree to sell for, and either call you a scammer, or tell you that you can sell it for “LAODZ MORE D00D!!11!!” Ignore these people. But the day I started accepting small amounts, I had people whisper me “400g?” and a minute later trading me. In 1 hour, I made over 18k. Now of course, if you can get more, take it. But it’s easier and faster to just accept lower amounts. I find tell them to offer is MUCH better than specifying a price, because people will surprise you. And if they offer really low, just take it.
3: WIM is your friend...
WIM ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) is an addon for WoW that turns your whispers into separate boxes, ala an IM. I’ve been using this addon for a very long time, and it’s a MUST. At my first go at scamming, I missed so many marks because of the flood of whispers, and screw up many more because I got confused at where I was in a conversation with a specific player. Having separate windows makes it easy to reply, and easier to keep on top of the separate conversations.
3: Booty Bay is a long way away...
It sounds simple, but the amount of people who stop on one or two marks because they’re scared the victims will see them spamming Trade chat again. Booty Bay is a while away, and while they’re there you can just as easily carry on scamming. And anyway, so what if they do see you? What can they do when they get back? They already know you’re a scammer. Don’t let them scare you in the slightest.
4: People get desperate, ignore all the threats...
I know scammers who stop scamming for hours or days because someone will say something like “My boyfriend is a cop” or “Blizzard will IP ban you” or “My dad’s an IT expert and he’ll track you down.” I really shouldn’t have to say this, but it’s amazing how many people actually get nervous.
Don’t......ever.......believe.....them.
The cake is a goddamn lie...
General hints:
They ask “How’d you get it?”
A good answer: I won it in a competition
A bad answer: My friend gave me one for my birthday
Hint: Never say you have more than one; it’s just not believable in the slightest.
-------------
They ask “Why are you on a level 1” (or w/e level you on)
A good answer: I don’t really play WoW, so I’ll make a new character on whatever server I can sell the code on. But this server seems to have some nice people I guess, so I hope I manage to sell it here.
A bad answer: I'm going to sell the gold for money / I’m going to x-fer my main over / I don’t want to ruin my reputation on my main
Hint: Saying you’ll sell the gold for money is retarded, cause you’d get more ebay-ing it / No one is that much of an idiot, you don’t leave your friends and guild for a couple of thousand gold / They’ll PESTER you to get onto your “main”
-------------
They say “Selling those codes is against the Blizzard TOU, and it can get you banned, just thought Id let you know”
The ONLY acceptable answer: Suck my balls /ignore
-------------
But really, the best hint I can give is don’t stick to one method of scamming to rigidly. This is the biggest mistake I see. When scammers have replies ready to paste into chat. Don’t be a douche, make a little effort, and adapt to the situation and person.
PS: WALL O’ TEXT CRITS YOU FOR 8999 DMG (I’m sorry, I had to say it before someone else did...)
PPS: And yes, it's damn colourful, CHEER UP EMO KIDS
PPPS: Try not to scam on US -BLACKHAND, QUEL'DOREI, GARROSH AND AKAMA. Apparently Jankem owns them. (Disregard it though, he's a
butthole)

Public Enemeny, no they wont. However, if you scam on one account, open up the other in another window, and trade between them, they can see that both accounts were from the same ip. But no, IP bans are VERY rare.
As for ban chance. Well, put it this way, NEVER use this on your main account. But I got a scammed account in my email on Friday, I've been using it for the last 6 days, and it's not banned yet. So you can get quite a bit using this scam
