Ok searched a bit for this. Didn't see it but I wouldn't at all doubt it if it has been posted in the past. But far as I have seen it hasn't.
What you need:
A toon that is part of a medium-high established guild
A little luck
Ability to open a GM ticket.
Ok now down to the meat of this "scam". What you do is pretty simple actually. Since about a year into Burning crusades release people have been tapering off of WoW. Awaiting WotLK, this is where you can score some big time loot.
Even though Wrath is now offically out and in full swing, i have noticed there are still some guild masters that have yet to make their triumphant return to lead their people to victory (or what the **** ever they do). This is more commonly seen in the low-medium established guilds but some high end guilds still lack and ACTUAL guild master.
The next part is easy, open your guild tab up and find the guild master (very bottom of the list) and check his last login time. If it says anything like 1 month, 2months, 3 months, etc. you're in business as long as it's atleast 1 month since the guild masters last login time. So once you find wether the GM is absent you open a GM ticket. Simply state that the current guild master has been MIA for a very very long time and that you would like to be sat as the acting guild master till the old one returns.
(before you flame, it is not a "A gm would have to be stupid to do this" situation. As a GM will tell you that if a GM is absent for longer then a month a new GM can be set by a GM)
Now then, wait.... wait.... wait.. Eventually a game master will contact you. Tell them how you want to be acting guild master till your guild master returns and that he's been gone for X amount of time. The GM will tell you that he will escalate this for investigation as they have to verify the guild master's inactivity. Wait a bit longer maybe a day or so. And Viola, 7 out of 10 times you will be set as Guild Master for the guild.
Now just empty the bank out. Or ask the guild to pull together to fill the bank for "whatever fake reason" then take it all. Then simply leave the guild.
I've done this on 3 of my 5 accounts with level 70 toons and worked all 3 times. Of course my guild masters had been gone for 2, 8, and 11 months.
Anyways I hope this helps a little bit and can score someone some lootz somewhere. I got a good amount of loot from it and no bans so i'd say I did pretty well.   |

Reputation: 83 Level up: 12%, 618 Points needed | | | | Update: since my name was pretty much trash after doing this, I reported the name of the 3 toons that did this on different toons and got free name changes done. but you could also PAY for a char transfer if it's that important to you. LOL |

No need to transfer servers either. And really really no need to make trial account delete and remake on a new name and yada yada yada. That is alot of hassle. Just report wait a few hours and re-log. |
