[Psychological Scamming] A new way to scam

Ok, this is going to seem VERY odd to some people, but have you ever gone to see a hypnotist perform? Hypnotists use the same techniques explained here in order to get a person to do silly things or sleep or whatever.

IF YOU ARE A SKEPTIC TO THE WAY THAT ONE CAN MANIPULATE SOMEONE'S MIND - STOP READING HERE.

This is all about getting information out of people in a very odd way - it involves using suggestion and, in a way, brainwashing them enough so that they willingly give you information about themselves.

(Please note that this is a LOT easier on vent/Teamspeak because you can emphasis specific words)

The way that this works is that you constantly barrage your victim with questions while telling them a story, but in a subtle manner. i.e.;

You: w00t! 18, just hit it recently - my friends wanted to throw a big party but i just told them that it was fine if they told me about the party, i just didn't want a surprise, so I didn't get one.
You: By the way, what was your account name again?
Victim: Spergg49
You: Ah cool, I always thought 18 would make me feel old, but it doesn't haha.
*disconnect from vent*

This may look ridiculous but read what I said carefully. Everything I told him was a lie, but it have him information sub-consciously. By me saying "but I just told them" his mind has picked up on the section of the phrase I emphasized.

Note: Every time you emphasis a word(s) take a small pause (just under a second) after saying it. This lets the victims mind pick up on it.

I also told him I didn't want a surprise so I didn't get one. This assures him (sub-consciously that he wont be in for a surprise). When you put all the information that I slipped into the conversation the result is like this;

just told them - Lets his sub-conscious mind feel safe to answer any questiosn it comes across.
I didn't want a surprise so I didn't get one - Lets his sub-conscious mind feel secure.

If you look at the order I put the statements in it was like this;

-Statement with the emphasis on words I wanted his sub-conscious mind to pick up on.
-A question asked quickly afterwards.
- They answer.

The reason this technique works so effectively is because everything...EVERYTHING...that you are told is registered and stored by your sub-conscious mind. Because your conscious mind can be skeptical and your sub-conscious can't be - it just takes information, sends it to your conscious mind where the tone of voice that you are hearing it in affects how your brain interprets it. (body language is also a big factor here but this is online)

This is the reason you emphasis certain parts of the conversation - so that the sub-conscious registers it as more important, making the conscious mind pay more attention to it and making it interpret it in a stronger way.

I know I will most likely get a lot of flames for this thread but I'm sure that intelligent people will realise that it isn't a bunch of pseudo nonsense and actually take it and incorporate it into their day-to-day scams.

I only gave one example of finding out an account name because it is a very extreme use of this but it is also a good example of what you can actually accomplish with this method. Oh, and I would NOT say this will work 100% of the time because it takes a TON of practice to perfect it.

Also, always get account info after age/name/secret question answer. The recall their account as your own by calling up blizz.

You have been a victim of this yourself, at some point in your life.


One of the best reasons that this works is because people don't care what other people have to say (essentially). So when you are talking to someone who's mind is elsewhere they just answer away, perhaps with an occasional "Yeah, and you?" as they believe this will stimulate the conversation more (for you anyway)

Like talking to your girlfriend while watching TV;

Her: Blah blah blah blah
You: Yes dear
Her: Blah?
You: Of course not!
Her: Blah blah?
You: I'll do it in a minute.

That is basically all you hear from your end, but you are answering her questions naturally without thinking because your mind is focusing on something entirely different. (I added this in after the reply on the other page, just to avoid confusion)

You will answer her questions so that she will bugger off and let you watch TV. The same applies to WoW, if somebody is on Vent talking to you they don't really care about your real life, so when you tell them about it their conscious mind goes into 'Low Power' mode and they start responding automatically.

It's very tricky to try and explain this fully, so if you have any questions just post them here or PM me I'll probably try and keep this updated with answers to questions since there seems to be quite a lot of interest in it.

IF (and i'm slightly skeptical, as everyone should be when confronted with unusual ideas) it works, then it would be great to actually hear someone doing it, as that's an easier way to learn the method.

But but... Hmmm, does Blizz have access to voice identification databases?

Good post man. As I've said before, this is my favourite way of scamming, although I'm no good at it. It's very interesting to see the different things you can make people do or say by just making simple suggestions, NLP techniques and hypnotism.

Search up Derren Brown on youtube to see all the crazy things that are possible using these techniques; that guy is a master.

Great scam. Nobody thinks of this kind of stuff, I've used similar methods before ;D Of course, my own, but with different twists

Anyways, I got an accountname/password in 30 minutes from some guy that came into my ventrilo. He was on just now and I got the rest of his account info just now, like 10-15 minutes ago, I'm going to recall the account tonight like 10 minutes before blizzard closes.

To answer Truba's question, Blizz doesn't monitor any sort of voice chat since it would be too much to handle all the complaints that would inevitably happen. That's the beauty of Blizzard's laziness

EDIT: I will try and record this happening on vent - but it could easily be faked as a recording so i'm not sure how I would prove it's legit.

Im interrested. Im pretty sceptical, but i want to beleive you. I think that a vent recording would be great. I think that if people didnt believe it, it would atleast show them how they should do it. And for the people who want to believe but arnt quite sure yet it should get them on your side.

ya i know what you mean bro, like i wanna understand this, but it just seems really hard. And see I do all my scams with data mining and social engineering so this would definitely come in handy.

I would love to have a recording - but like I said, I could just get one of my friends to act like he doesn't me. Somebody mentioned Derren Brown to me, he s what sparked my interest in this years ago and is the reason I took a course on psychology

I like the idea, im doubtful it will work.

Hypnotism is about suggestion true, but it would take more than this unfortunatly,the person would have to be in the right frame of mind, they would have to be concentrating, while playing WoW they may be focused on other things.

If you can get it to work then go for it, otherwise i would leave it. I have hypnotised people and been hypnotised so i do know what im talknig about.
