Account scamminng method #223423
So I found an interesting way to scam today.. You need 1 70 to do it.
Basically, find the armory of one or more 70's you think would be worth a bit of cash/good for trades etc., IMO in works better with a 2 for 1 70 trade.
Then, create characters of the same name and class on the same server BUT add extra letters to the end of the name. Advertise you want to sell the characters you chose (nameless of course, until someone psts you). Then, swap msn details, and say "Oh because it's an unfair trade/i got scammed before etc. , can I just give you a screenshot of my characters in the Character name change screen?"
I realize alot of people WON'T fall for this, but still...
You screenshot the screen below in paint, from the paid namechange screen in your WoW account login thingy. But, what you do is copy the number 70 from your current 70 to the 2 or more other level 1's you created IMITATING other peoples 70's off armory. You can easily copy the number 70 over the top of the one, (you may have to use the clour picker and fill.. as you can see there are different colours).. And then you simply edit out the extra letters at the end of the names.. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Anyway, you send your vicitm the picture, ask for there account details first (you can fake a few 70's, you'd be suprised at how many people give out their account details simply because they think your trading 3 for 1)
And that's pretty much it. This guides a bit poorly written, if you don't get any of it just ask me.

well the problem with this scam is a major trust issue, people will not buy an account they can't sign into, I have once sent a picture saying the name of the buyer and he still wanted to sign on, especially when you're selling expensive characters they want trust for $500+ I know I would. my overall rating is 2/10 mainly because people just don't fall for this anymore with all the anti-scam going on.
