I THINK this is new, but obviously searching for 'gold scam' gets you a hell of a lot of threads, so if it's a repost let me know  I actually ended up doing this by mistake for the first time...like a force of habit :P
Basically;
- Make an alt, or use a scammed account's level 70. (I use a scammed level 70)
- Just /yell "I want to sell a character transfer, i'll pay for it. It's a level 70 *whatever class*!"
(I use a warrior because that is what a lot of people roll as a first character)
- You will get a few whispers, maybe a few report warnings...ignore those.
- When someone asks for the details tell them things like "It is SSC ready" or "It is only ready for kara". This makes it more believeable than "Full t6!!" or something.
- Tell them you are sick of levelling whatever class (warrior for this example) and you want to sell the character for gold so you can gear up your alts and get thier profs up fast.
NOTE: Some people have told me to just earn the gold with the level 70. This is why 'selling' a warrior is good because you can say it's a tank and that dailies/farming takes WAY too long and you don't feel like getting a load of new gear and respeccing 
- I normally say i'm selling the character transfer for around 3000g. Most level 70's will agree on that price, at least on the server i'm on anyway...
- You will get asked something like "So how do we do this?". Tell them that you will give them YOUR last name so that they can make a trial account with the same last name so you can transfer the character to that account, in exchange for 3000g.
- They will pretty much always say "How do I know you wont scam me?". (If you don't..then gratz ). I say either "Well if I do report my main for scamming and I get banned". Most people believe this and in most cases they realise they will get banned for buying characters (they realise too late :P). However, the safest thing to say is "Well..we don't know eachother so we can't be sure we trust one another. I could give you the account and you could just not pay me..or vice versa. So what if you pay me..like..1500g, as a deposit?"
(Quite a lot of times they will say "How do I know you wont rip me off for 1500g?". This is a good time to tell them "Well, if I do, report my main for scamming and I get banned".)
- You can also barter the 'deposit' to a lower price, either way, it's decent gold
- Once you have both settled on a price, give him a fake surname and tell him you will stay online until he is ready. Even give him your MSN address to give him that extra level of fake security
Im sure that you guys can figure out what to do with the gold once he is off making his trial account with that surname...
I payed for my epic flyer in 2 days with the scam - didn't even get a warning, let alone a ban
