WoW ScamsWorld of Warcraft Whitehat Scamming Methods ONLY.
[NO QUESTIONS HERE] We do not condone scamming, this section is meant for people to read about scamming so they can prevent being scammed themselves.
Hey guys, I have posted this scam before when I was known as '4mm0' just like the game card one but I want to share it again (yes i want repz lulz) but I also noticed a lack of new scams so here it is, it didn't get much attention but I'm hoping it will now. I've done this many times and it worked out 75% of the time.
Requirements None!
The Scam (Long Version, See bottom for Short Version) 1. First you need to post "your" account for trade on a Trading forum, and on the post say that you need to post your contact info on the thread (Only applies for MD) Just so you don't accidently scam a person with 6+ Rep.
Be sure to find an armory link of the character you are trading. 2. Add the traders 1 by 1 and talk to them each. Don't be in such a rush and talk to them a bit. Make sure to tell them that you cannot show ingame. A good excuse is that your in (random city here) and your laptop doesn't have WoW on it. If they say that it is okay go on.Once you think they are ready to trade ask them to if they want to trade now. If they say yes go on.
3. First you will change emails, once you recieve the email change notification in your inbox go to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] (down currently, you can simply use a fake emailer) and send them an email with this template.

Ask them if they recieved it, they will ask you it too. Say yes and once they have go on. 4. Now its time to exchange SQA. Tell the trader that you will email the SQA, tell him to do the same. This is where you will get his/hers name. 90% of the time the person will have their name on there email. If not search their email on google, you may get forums or others and try to find their name. 5. Now you will be trading Account Names, say something alongs the lines of "Okay now whats your account name?" once they tell you say something like "brb washroom!!!1@111"
Now you can block the trader (not advised) or take the time to try to recall the account with the name given. If the name doesn't work come back to the convo and say, "btw whats your full name and phone number just incase i disconnect" If you used something like my excuse on not showing ingame say. The hotel's connection isn't that good. Then once you get the real name, say brb again and then take the time to recall the account.
5b. (Alternative way) Now ask them for his full name, give yours and be sure to have the First name the same name as you made it in the email. Once you exchange it say "ZOMFG! pedobear is at my door brb!!!" or something and get the account name from the Account Notification email and attempt to recall it.
The Scam (Short Version)
Find Account Trader
First Change Emails, Use mmomailer to email him a fake one.
Exchange SQA
Ask to exchange full names
Get Account Name from Account Notification Email
Recall
I am open to any questions if you don't understand and all that. Thanks! Hope you like the scam
Black0ut120 suggested a good excuse, say that you are working and when they say okay we'll do it when we get home. Tell them that you are off in 6 hours and will probably trade the toon before you get home.
EDIT: A little edit, it is not nessecary for you to exchange account names since you can see it in the email.
ENJOY!!
