WoW ScamsWorld of Warcraft Whitehat Scamming Methods ONLY.
[NO QUESTIONS HERE] We do not condone scamming, this section is meant for people to read about scamming so they can prevent being scammed themselves.
A little introduction : I use this method to scam AoC accounts (Most of them are not 80 yet, just because people below 80 fall faster for it). The scamming method IS common sence, but the point that I already have 6 accounts with this scam (And I only tried 7 times yet). It means this works quite well. What do you need ?
Patience
Social Feeling
Quick fingers
A very slow brain
Thats it.
How?
First of all you need a person which is a n00b, thats somewhat everybody below level 80 and that only has 1 - 2 positive repu on markee.
Don't aim to high, the scam works the best on level 1-60 accounts, or just empty accounts/CD-keys. It is worth less, but this scam takes like 5 min time...
So you search for a victim, my case : "WTT AoC account (empty) for WoW account(empty)"
I contact the guy and say I have 1 WoW-Normal key, 1 TBC and 1 gamecard that I'm willing to trade for his AoC account. (ALL PEOPLE like this, because they 1: get more then normally 2 : everybody likes CD-Keys because they are un-recallable)
So you do some shit-chat with him. And you invent some story you have been scammed yesterday and that you want some prove of the existence of the account. ((REMEMBER : YOU DO NOT HAVE AOC INSTALLED)).
You have to ask him you can have a second a look at the account throught the account management or something (you have to look like a newbie, so "something" behinds sentences works good ^^)
Now since you have a CD-Key you can't really go first (Tell that to your victim). But you are willing to go first if you can see first his account excists (The guy that scammed you yesterday gave you a trail account, now you don't want to see that happen again!).
So you ask for Username and Password for funcom accounts management. If they say "but then you can take my account " you have to say "no no, you can still recall it throught e-mail and stuff"
Most of the people believe you and give you their account information!
Now when he gives you the information, act newbish "hmmz where do I have to login into funcom ?" (In the meanwhile you have to do the things below, you ask this to get some more time)
You go to Funcom.com, and login
You go to "change subscription password" and ofc change it(BEWARE, DONT GO TO INGAME PASSWORD, FIRST GO TO SUBSCRIPTION PASSWORD)
Once you changed the pass, you go to "Personal Details". There you can change the E-Mail
Now, funcom works with the system that if you change e-mail, the NEW e-mail has to confirm the change, NOT the old.
---BUT--- If you change the E-Mail, the OLD E-Mail will get a mail with something like "The E-Mail of your funcom account has been changed to XX, before it was XXX" Its smart to first change the e-Mail to something not-excistent, because you can just keep chaning the E-Mail withouth having to click a link, but if you want to play the game, you have to submitt a working E-Mail where you can click a confirmation link on
Now you just block the guy and go on.
Warning : The accounts can still get recalled with CD-Keys, thought, none of the account that I scammed got recalled, probably most new players don't know that this is possible so they just accept they lost their account.
