OK so recently I had my account hacked… All I could was laugh – but then I figured lets see if I could use this to benefit me. After logging in and opening a ticket I was elevated to the next level, it took about 2-3 days to get a complete restore, and this is when I started my scam.
I opened a ticket in-game saying I was restored but did not get all my items back; I was told to submit another ticket to the GM who did the restore. Ok so… I told him that I had been restored but I did not get everything I lost, he then asked for a list of what I was still missing.
After 2 simple e-mails the GM replied that he was able to restore all that the logs showed and what was I missing, that I never had... I replied 16 BoJ, a few other items I wanted (mostly gems and some odd items that sell very well on my server) about 9k in honor, and 3200 gold. About 2hrs later I got an e-mail saying they were unable to return everything .
Part of E-mail... **Please note that items with random modifiers (of the Bear, of the Eagle, etc.) are randomly generated; therefore we are unable to guarantee that you will receive the same modifier you had on your original item. We are also unable to guarantee the restoration of trade skills, as well as enchantments or add-ons (such as gems, scopes, etc.) that your character's items may have possessed. While we will make every effort to provide assistance in cases of loss, please keep in mind that the decision to go forward with a restoration is entirely at Blizzard's discretion.***
BUT I did get all the Badges, all the gold, honor, and a very good selection of items. (Things i never had...)
Here’s the scam – I am currently trying it on another account for conformation. Have someone you trust log into your account, (might want to block your IP) sell trade off items, (I used AH for this test) log out when done. Best not to log in or try to until after a Tuesday scheduled maintenance. Then log in or try to using old password. Try 2-3 times then call. Get it reset, jump in game follow instructions, now wait for restore…
Now wait until the next system maintenance then submit a ticket to the GM that restored your account asking for more stuff. I will update this week when I finish testing.   |

OK – so I got an email today saying that they were able to restore my missing items. I was able to 150gold, 3living ruby’s, several herbs, a Health Injector recipe, Elekk Gun, 4 Badge of Justice’s, and about 10 other items… I know what’s the big deal? I never had these things!!! I will log in tonight after work and post a SS of e-mail and Blizz mail.
I had a correspondence with the GM and his reason for not giving everything the first time was after system maintenance that player logs only go back so far. Anyway I have done this twice now and works – I hope someone can further exploit this.

Account Administration will do their best to remove the items/gold from its destination. Meaning, most likely, you'll just get back what they take. |

But for gems etc it sounds nice  | |
