this is a pretty simple scam to get more money when selling an item that works on the same principle as the world's economy

NOTE: you will want a friend for this and an item to sell

1. go to a major city
2. type in trade channel: WTS (your item) PST with offer
3. when someone whispers you, get an offer
4. if you want more for that item, say that someone else is offering (a few gold less than what you want)
5. if they ask the other buyer's name tell them your friends name
6. if they want the item they will probably offer more
7. if you still want more, repeat step 4
8. if what you say is more than what you pay tell them that the other guy went offline, is backing off, or something like that
9. more gold for the item

did this once and turned 15g into 46g, but i did not have friend helping so i got reported (i think), that is why you will want friend to help
