This is working scam got already one and getting more. I cant prove since i dont have enough rep but oh well.

Anyways you dont need anything to do this.

First go to armory and find nice character such as level 70 with t6 or something.
Then go to markeedragon or similiar place and make account. Now just post WTT "your class here" and then give made up info such like: he has over 2k gold, 20k honor or something like that and put your msn address there. Now when they contact just start asking like normal questions like how much gold and such so you would look like real buyer. Then you say something similiar: I have traded him twice already but they always retrieve the password so can we change all the information?


If he says yes move on. If he says no then block him. Now tell him good way to change the information without risk of getting scammed. You will say SQA first then he says it, Then he changes the email to your email then you do it, then you say account username then he says it, then he says pass then you say it. Just give the incorrect information and when your supposed to change the email just wait few minutes. You should also put the password retrieve ready so when you get the username just retrieve the account then its yours.

And thats how you get legit account without fear of someone retrieving the password.

That's nice and all, but that's the base of ANY social scam, and not many people will fall for that unless they see the character ingame.

The reason why people will fall for that is since im giving first the information. Secondly if the guy wants try your account ingame just say to him that you might try to steal his gold and this is scam.

Or you can just trade one scammed account completely legitimately for a legit account, but spoof the update notification email and give him a fake last name. Doing this, you can turn one scammed account into 100 scammed accounts in no time at all.

Honestly, if you're using MD it is a bad idea to post on their forums at all. They're very good at seeking out matching IP addresses and finding fishy characters. I try to avoid posting at all costs, in case I need to actually sell an account legitly.

People fail to see the originality of this scam. First trade scam ever was to get the info first. This is just made 10 times better. With this scam you gain trust of the person and he will do the trade with you.
