Basically yes. Grab a scammed account, go to the nearest big city:

• Alliance - Human - SW
• Horde - Orc - Orgrimmar

Spam it in trade. People respond. It's that easy. You can't use a trial account because you can't actually speak in trade channel. You would have to initiate conversations with people by talking to them in /s and hoping that the people you picked were stupid enough to buy an account.
