Everyone knows about the scam where you replicate a gold buyer's auction and hope that the chinese gold seller buys it... [Link coming soon]
It obviously doesn't work anymore, so give this a try. I'm not sure if it's bannable yet, so I suggest doing it on a scammed account.
Note: Be sure to speak in broken english, with the exception of the opening whisper and closing whisper. You will type these with proper english to replicate a macroed message.
1. Check the AH as you would for the previously mentioned scam
2. When you have your target, first /who them to see if they're on. If not, slap them onto your friends list on a toon you normally plan on and move on.
3. Whisper that person and ask if they've recieved payment.
4. Now most likely they'll reply stating that they didn't recieve it yet, and they're waiting. Most of the companies promise delivery in a set time period, but they rarely make the deadline.
5. Now say that since they've been such a consistant buyer, you have a special offer for them. You have a huge order on this server and need the gold within a few hours, but will come up short even with all of your farmers.
6. Ask them if they'd like to loan you a certain amount of gold (around 1k less than what they ordered usually works well), and promise that if they loan gold to you now, they will recieve their payment within a half hour and will get the original loan +50% interest.
7. 99% of the time they won't have the gold now, but will ask if they can loan you their gold after they recieve it. Say that that is fine, but your shift is up. You will check up on them in a few hours.
Here's an example conversation, feel free to copy+ paste my parts and make macroes our of them.
You: hello sir have u recieved delivery yet?
Buyer: Nope, I'm still waiting.
You: well sir since your such often buyer we have a special offer for you!
Buyer: Ok, what is it?
You: if u loan us 4k gold now, we will pay back with 50% intrest and your delivery will be made within the hour.
Buyer: If you're a gold selling company, why do you need gold from me?
You: we have big 20k order on this server and need gold fast. our farmers cant farm enough fast
Buyer: Oh, ok. I don't have the gold now though, can I loan it to you when I get it delivered and still get the interest?
You: ok sir my shift is up. i come back when we deliver gold.
Now you'll either have to monitor the AH to see when they get their gold, or come back in a few hours and claim that you work in a different room than the people who deliver the gold, and you're not allowed to leave. Now you'll hopefully be able to log into another level 1 and get the gold from them.
If you're creative and put enough time into it, this scam does work very well.
