My First Escapade with the Turtle Mount Scam

So, I just got a new scammed account, which was easy cakes thanks to all the wonderful guides here on MMOwned. Props to everyone who's ever taken the time to make a guide, and also to everyone who's made a guide about the Turtle Mount Scam.

So, I got the balls to finally do an in game scam. I'd been teetering on the edge of not doing it because I kinda' value this account because it's the first scammed account I've managed to secure and actually KEEP, it had a nice twinked to hell level 39 Warrior on it, but I digress; I wanted that gold!

So, I pitched the scam, but I added a twist. I didn't discuss the price in game AT ALL with ANY of the potential pidgeons, I told them we'd have to interact via Instant Messenger or no service could be provided. I've heard of people being banned based on in game lying. Well this way, I made absolute sure that I was not connected in game to the "Rep" in the IM chat.

So I offered the Reins of the Swift Spectral Tiger for 900g, and also, as a twist to look legit, I offered a 10% discount for dealing with us via instant messenger. So total it was 810g. Luckily for me the dude wanted TWO of the ****ers, one for him and one for his sweetie pie. Now, to this point, you're probably asking WHY I'm making this thread. Well here's why, I want to update you guys with the details and find out if I get banned or not using the "Delete character, remake exactly as was, trick Blizz records" method of washing. Here was my exact process.

I created a new level 1 character, an Orc for getting to Orgrimmar easly, and made his name have 3 "i"'s in it, one of the "i"'s was spoofed with the ASCII character (alt+161). Why? Because it's a very subtle difference, and in the humble jumble of big city trade chat, almost ENTIRELY unnoticeable.

So I go to Org, and hit the trade channel with the pitch, you already know it; "WTS WoW TCG Loot! Now including Reins of the Swift Spectral Tiger! Whisper for details!" I got about 5 whispers in 10 seconds, and quickly cleared them all out except 1; see, 3 didn't have any Instant Messenger and 1 was a Level 1 Orc named Takemygold (hahaha, yeah right buddy, /ignore). So the 5th gave me an MSN contact. I replied "You will be contacted shortly. " And quickly made a new MSN name. I used a full fake name, you could for instance use "Alex Dirmingham", I like to use geeky sounding last names, it inspires trust in the suckers.

Anyways, I contacted him and pitched myself WHOLLY into the character. Example: "I'm a customer service representative, I was informed via our in game rep that you're interested in 1 or more of our products, how may I help you?" You gotta REALLY pitch it HARD and get their trust. This makes it go smoothly and allows you to establish control over the process, and MAKE SURE to get it into their heads that you do not deal directly with the game rep. This helps you keep anonymous and, if they decide to take it to Blizz directly, with chat logs and all, Blizz can't say "well the in game char DID say this and that! SCAMBANBAM!" because the sucker could've just spoofed that shit and be trying to trick Blizzard.

I told him all TCG codes, for the safety of our valued customers, will be delivered via mail IN GAME and that it takes 1h for delivery because of how WoW Mail works. He was OK with this and I also made sure he understood that he would have to trade all gold via trade window to our in game rep. He's stupid enough to fall for all of this so far, he's gonna' fall for this too I guarantee it.

Anyways, he gave gold, I told him thanks and pitched it (meaning I said shit like "Thank you for purchasing your new mount with us, we wish you the best of luck in your adventures within Azeroth and we hope you grow to love your new mount!") This really seals the deal. From there, I blocked him on MSN. Sent the gold to the accounts twink, deleted the character, remade him exactly as was, and now we'll see how it goes.

The whole point of this? Up to this point I was scared to scam gold in game, and this is because I wasn't sure how the "delete, remake" method works for washing the character. I'm sure many kids are hesitant to go into in game account scamming because of this same reason. So I needed to come up with a way to get the gold WITHOUT tying the in game character to a direct lie. That's why I didn't discuss ANYTHING in game, not even price. So, hopefully, he won't even report me, because I told him he could contact me at ANY TIME in case of a problem. He asked "Who should I contact in case there's a problem?" What does that tell me? He doesn't know about GM help, LET'S HOPE!

I'll update you guys later, for now I'm going to go AH shopping!

Him apparently. He asked me who to contact, most people would think "I can call a GM to fix this if I get scammed", but he was completely lost. I figure it was luck of the draw that I got such a scrub to scam, but hey, I'm not complaining.

I just lol'd IRL at this. Way to go, I guess? Sucks for the scammed kid but if he was dumb enough to fall for that he is probably too stupid to play WoW, let alone figure out how to breath through his mouth.

hehe, major pwnage
Here is a way to spiff up the scam:
Make a mail that you send to yourself (ingame) and then make a copy of it (Supposedly the code for his mount) - they will accept the trade window within seconds!

You can get banned using the delete character, remake exactly as it was method. It all depends on how consistent the GM's are. If they start digging, there's no fool proof way of concealing your crime.
