Account Scam - In Game/Trading -
03-24-2008
Hi all, this is my first post here on Mmowned :]
For this scam you need:
1- Activated WoW account.
2-Good Social Skills =]
My account scam has 3 parts.
-Preparation
-Find your victim
-Account Name
-Password
I will include all the conversation examples at the end.
[Preparation]
To prepare for this scam, edit screenshots of a geared level 70 Account Management, Email Change, and Transfer screen, to prove you have the character. [even though you dont]
Find an armory for this fake character also.
Also it is good to change your email address on any WoW account, so you have the email to forward to them. [Find Your Victim]
Look on account selling/trading websites for someone trading their character. Talk to this person on AIM or Msn, and tell them that you want to trade your character with them, ask them how much gold they have on their character.
If they say something like 200 or 300, tell them you want at least 500 so that you can get started on the server. If they say something really high, ask for just a bit higher than that. Say that you have that amount of gold on your character and want the same amount. Once he agrees to go 'grind' some more gold so that he will accept your account trade... ask him for his character name so you can armory.
[Account Name]
Now, you will log onto your WoW account, and go on his server while he is grinding gold. All the while, be talking and making friends with him on AIM. Sign off AIM and wait around 10-20 minutes. Now on WoW, you will get his Account name.
Ok, to get their account name, I use a method that has to do with /DnD I've seen a very well written guide about it on this website, and I am going to use it to get their account name only. Act like a noob, act obnoxious so that they will do anything to shut you up, remember, they're grinding and don't want to be bugged.
Once you have their account name, sign back on AIM and ask him about his grinding progress etc... Wherever he is at at his grinding, tell him he can stop and it is good enough.
[Password]
Proceed with the trade, Show him your premade screenshots, etc.
When it comes time to actually trade, first ask for him to change the email to yours. While he is doing that, copy and paste your 'Email Change' email, and use a fakemailer to send it to him. Use the email address [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] .
Once you receive the notice that the email is changed on your email, ask him to give you the account password and SQA, at the same time, tell him a fake password and SQA so he feels pressured to give you his. Before he responds tell him that you and him will both say the account names at the same time. Once he gives you the password and SQA, change the password and the account is yours.
You already have his account name, but he doesn't know that, he thinks you know nothing, thus, he doesn't care about giving you the password when you don't know the account name.
Examples:
AIM Conversation-
You: Hey, you are trading your WoW account, I have a T6 warrior.
Him: Yeah, can I have the armory for it?
You: Sure [link to t6 warrior]
Him: Oh nice, I like his gear, how do you want to trade?
You: First, I want to ask you how much gold you have on the character.
Him: Oh, about 250... why?
You: Aye... I wanted at least 500 bro, just to get my groundings on the new server.
Him: Oh really?
You: Yeah, I have 2k on my character, I won't ask you to get that much though, can you just grind 250g real fast? Or borrow some from a guildy?
Him: I suppose I can grind it, i'll go do that now.
You: Ok cool, thanks for doing this man, btw, what is your characters name and server?
Him: Isuck on Stoopidland
You: K, i'll armory.
Him: Ok, off to go grind, later
Sign off.
In game DnD portion:
You: hey der wutz up
Him: Hi, do I know you?
You: ya, I wuz in BG with you other day
Him: Oh... ok.
You: Yah. SO i got this sweet new sword [Sweet Sword]
Him: Oh cool...
You: Yeah, it made my player rating go up lik 2 pointz
Him: Uh, ok? Player rating?
You: yah, itz 1452
Him: For arenas?
You: No, overall player rating sillyz... y kno how 2 check
Him: No...
You: Oh, to check typez /dnd [Account Name] / player rating.

Have you actually found anybody dumb enough to fall for the <DnD> bit? I donno, it kinda seems like anybody who spent enough time playing to get to 70 would know about something as basic as dnd... just thinking.
wow why would you copy somebody else's scam you fail. You also asked for rep. Im going to laugh when you have negative rep cause you copied somebody elses scam exactly and tried to take credit.
would rep but you asked for it, anyway this is just a more... "buisy work" of the DND scam and it is bound to fail since the DND scam has been spammed so much on all servers.
