WoW ScamsWorld of Warcraft Whitehat Scamming Methods ONLY.
[NO QUESTIONS HERE] We do not condone scamming, this section is meant for people to read about scamming so they can prevent being scammed themselves.
I know I've seen a version of this scam before, but this is refined to work a better percentage of the time, with smarter people.
The Setup:
The basic scam goes like this, you buy an item that there is only one of on the AH, preferably an epic or blue. Twink items work well but the first item I ever used was [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. I bought for about 115g and put it back on the AH for 280g. I usually make a new toon (other than my main) to put the item on the AH just in case someone catches on and decides to flame you on the realm forums.
The Scam:
The general idea is to make another toon, advertise that you want to buy it for more (in this case 350g). Now up until this point this is pretty much a repost, but this is where I make it so you're not relying on the stupidity of anyone, I scammed a 70 in the top guild on my server with this.
Instead of just spamming "WTB [item] 350g PST", you type something along the lines of this,
"Need someone to COD me [item]. It's in the AH for x gold but I really want it and I'm about 100g short, so if someone will buy it for me and COD it, I will give you (x+~100) gold for it. PST if you can help me."
Now, this seems like a stretch but a lot of people who have a good amount of gold will feel bad and want to help you out. The thought of you scamming them should never come into their mind, because this isn't something they have even heard of most likely.
Possible obstacles:
Some people might be skeptical about you being on a lvl 1 character so they will ask who your main is. My solution to this is to find a character on wowarmory.com who is level 70 and not online (don't use someone in a BT guild because a lot of people might know them). You can ask them to COD it to your main as a last resort, but I don't like to do this because that player might return the COD early, and the longer the person doesn't know they've been conned, the better.
Bans? This isn't bannable at all. A. Most people by the time the COD gets sent back to them won't remember your name or even realize they got scammed. B. All you are doing is cancelling your trade agreement, you're not taking any money from them, selling them a false item or anything. I've done this 50+ without so much as a warning.
There is a reason I like to keep the same toon, then I can add the people I scam to my friends list and only do it when they're not online. If you made a new toon every time on the same server, chances are one of the people you scammed is going to flame you over trade saying, "Don't fall for it, I got scammed."
Anyway have fun with this quick, easy, and safe way to make 1k+ a day.
Edit: No replies yet but if you're gonna flame me for a repost, try the old way and then my way before you do. You'll see a huge success percentage increase

So the person that buys the item and CoD it to you he'll do it only because he feel bad for you ? wth if there is no benefit for the guy why would he do it..
( he will actually buy the item for lets say 500 golds and cod it for you for how much ? )
but thing is the victim knows you're short on money, so he'll think "how the hell that guy will get an extra 100g to pay me if he cant even pay it directly from AH" ..
Please read the whole post before you flame. I already addressed the problem of credibility, you tell him who "your main" is. If he asks you to log your 70 on or anything like that, just tell him you ran out of game time, but you're getting another game card tomorrow.
Like I said in my post, my version is well-refined and will net you about twice the success rate of the original version.
My tally this week with this scam is 10k, and I think only one of the CODs expired and got returned, so as you can see; it's easy as hell to launder the money with all that time.
