The Big Scam (for expirenced scammers only!) -
03-20-2008
I have been working on a scam project for a good while.
It basically consisted on infiltrating a high-end guild and scamming a giant amount of accounts (I earned $17,624.72) a GIANT amount.
It takes a period of about 3 months.
This is for ADVANCED scammers only.
The Overview This scam consists of what I call group social engineering. That is, you will have to join a guild, gain their trust, and in the end scam them in the back. This is not for the weak hearted. The hardest part of this scam is not getting attached! When I did this scam, I worked with 2 other scammers. I suppose you could do this alone, but it is best when working together.
The Start At this time I suppose you and 2 buddies, both of whom are experienced scammers, all of whom have a level 70 (if they are experienced, they can easily scam one.)
All the characters must be on the same server.
To begin with, you must scout (this takes about 3 days.) Search your server's forum. Search the armory. Search on your character.
What your looking for:
A guild who...
A. Has alot of high-end characters with epic gear.
B. Is (obviously) end-game but still friendly and accepting of new-comers.
C. Not the MOST popular guild on the server. Why? Because once you scam all of these accounts, you will not want HUGE controversy on a major guild disappearing .
Important Note: When looking for a guild, ALWAYS notice willingness of the person who is inviting you to, well, invite you. If they are reluctant, try to notice why. It may be because your not well geared. This is OK. However if they are too reluctant then don't go for this guild, it will mess things up later on. Also if they immediantly add you, this too is bad, because most noob guilds dont go "UMEHGUD K UZ GET INVITE NOW!!!!111oene"
If they do not invite you, I would try going on a new server, but if you can't for watever reason, then just go for another guild on the server.
It Begins!
If you are thus far, you should be in the guild. Here comes a hard part: try to get ranked up so you can invite people. Help others, raid, etc. Most guilds have it so you can immediantly invite people (well on the server I scammed anyway), but alot of others have it so you must ask on a forum or something and go through a long process of joining. If you can't get ranked up, then you have another option: Befriend an officer.
Run instances w/ him/her, get to him/her, joke around, and do everything but get too attached. Eventually once you earn their trust, you can easily ask to invite your 2 buddies to the guild.
Once your buddies join, the long part begins.
The Long Part (hehe)
This is, as the title says, the longest part of the scam. You will need to become active members of the guild for about a month and a half. Take notes about ever member, record who is online and when, etc. TRY AS HARD AS YOU CAN to get as many (if not all) to the rank of officer (while it is not suggested to go on, you can go on even if all of you aren't officers.)
Once you are all officers, try to organize events. Alternatively if you couldn't get to that status, start suggesting events. This part does not require too much explanation.
Keep on the lookout for those few guild members are serious (ass hole type) folks who won't trust you or are very anti-social. Record when they are online and try to set certain time periods during which they are not online.
This will take a long time, and remember, DO NOT GET TOO ATTACHED. ALWAYS KEEP THE MAIN GOAL IN MIND. I usually have weekly meetings with my scamming team and talk about progress and such.
Intellect Analysis This section is much what the title states: analyzing your guild's intellect. My team even made a guild IQ, with 100 being super smart folks, and 1 being rocks (well you know what I mean.)
Your guilds rating will greatly effect what you will do in the final scam.
The Scam So, you and your buddies are trusted members of the guild. You are active, and you organize fun events for everyone. Now is the time to stab your ENTIRE guild in the back.
There are multiple ways to do this, and I base it off your guild's IQ.
1-10: Well... if they are IQ 1-10 then they are prolly 5 year olds.
10-60: The WotLK beta event! Hopefully one of your buddies either has a copy of the WotLK phisher or can make one. This event simply consists of encouraging your entire guild to enlist in the 'beta' so you can all have jolly good fun in WotLK! Yippee!
60-70NOTE: THIS REQUIRES THAT YOU HAVE ACCESS TO YOUR GUILD'S EMAIL!) The exploit trick. Organize a time where all of your guild goes wall jumping, goes in old IF, etc etc. Then you must mass-email a message from blizzard. Im not going to type it out, but have it something along the lines of:
Your account has been reported for exploiting blah blah. Please go into your account management page for more details.
Ofc this is WAY to short, make it longer and more blizzard like. Anyway have a link to their 'account management', which will be ofc a fake login. Have the fake login lead to a page saying "Confirm Account Information" and take all of the rest of their information.
The hardest part of this is having all of your friends changing info as fast as they can w/o other guildies catching on. The best tip I can give is to simply go fast, for us only one account got away because we changed passwords first, emails next, etc etc.
70-100: Extremely hard! This will take alot of your time! Firstly, collect as much info from guildies as possible, i.e email, possible answers to their SQ&A, etc.
What we did:
1. We designed (from the ground up) a fake "rate your WoW" account website that, after analyzing your character's stats, will give their account a 'rating'. Have the website ask for their account name (what you will need) and server (wont need this but add it to sound legit.) Have the website include a random 4-digit number generator, this will be their 'rating'.
2. Talk about it on guild chat, get as money people as you can to try it.
3. A few days later, talk about some guy who has been going across your server's forums using advance hacking program's to hacking into people's accounts. Suggest to people that they should change their password.
4. One week later, mention it again. Ask around, have your friends say things like "Yeah I changed my password after I got an email from blizzard saying my account was a possible target for an advance hacking program."
5. Another week later, mention it yet again, say your buddy got banned. This should trick those last few people who have yet to change their pass.
Start calling up Blizzard support, say your account was hacked and that they changed your info. Answer what you can, if you dont know something (i.e their SQ&A) say you forgot it. Btw you should know everyone's names by now, forgot to mention that.
You get the point.
Those Few Bad People There are always going to be those few people who mess up everything, those few people who will doubt you and question you whenever you try to scam. As I said before, record when they are on, and try to avoid them where possible.
You Don't Need Multiple People, But it is suggested! This is simply because it will be ALOT less work on your part, and the more people you have the easier it is simply because you will have someone to make you more believable and someone to make small talk to and discuss w/ etc etc
NOTE: I'm not posting templates for sites or w/e only because if I did who knows how many leechers would over-use this and before you know it this scam would go down the drain.

That was all together.
I've been doing this for a long while.
Btw most of the accounts I sold were for an average of $400-500. Well lets see...
I also sold the gold on each account seperately from the acccount.
I rented 13 of the accounts I got for about $18 a day.
So it adds up real fast.
In fact let me do the math here....
$450 (average sale) x 38 (accounts I sold)= $17,100 (which is average... I got a little more for a few accounts)+ Renting= $17,624.72
Holy Shit man, That takes a LONG time. But in the end worth it I guess.
<iliwau> Well ill sum it up for you, the leecher was trying to flame me for helping him, then all of his leecher friend were like yay, without noticing the big hole in their castle which i then went on to climbing through and killing them from behind.
the whole thing about emailing the lvl 60-70 is most likely not going to work. Most people that play WoW know by the time that they get to lvl 70 that blizz will never ask for your password

The rest of the guide is pretty good though
Yeah I've been told that a few times xD
I think the only reason it is believable is because of the link to the 'account managment' page.
Thanks for the feedback.
Btw, EVERY scam is risky, but this I suppose is just more then others. That is why I suggest having alot of expirence and doing this in a group,
