Hi fellow MMOwned's,



I got scammed now quite a few times on different games with different methods,
yes i failed alot of times! I trusth people to soon.. and my accounts were gone too soon. (Haa! like the MJ song.) not funny


Anyways so now i wanna try and see if im able to scam someone, and this seemed the right section for it.


It's offcourse a WoW scam i want to perform, and i was thinking about doing the following, but i dont know if it would work. Anyways here we go:


1. Contact seller
2. Propose him how to do the deal
2a. Tell him to send photo copy of his ID, and ask for telephone number+adress
2b. Share your "Fake" info aswell
3. Ask him to change email to yours and ask for screenshot of it being done.
4. Send him the money trough Paypal (Use Proxy?)
5. Ask for Account Info (Username+Password / S.A)
6. Change password & Other info

Now the part were you scam him:

7. Look to see what name was used to create the account, look if its the same name as the ID has. (If not ask it?)
8. Create a new WoW account with the EXACT same First/Last name as the account you just bought! (Add Expansion aswell! Omg Expensive! $$)
9. Transfer the Main char or the "richest char" to your account.
10. Once Completed. Charge back on paypal -> Unauthorized payment. Paypal will take your side since its against the rules to sell digital accounts. (Prozy use ftw?!)



Now you got a new char with no chance of getting it called back.
And you saved yourself the amount of $$ you would have spent on buying the char.
So i think this would only be profitable when you buy expensive accounts.



Thats it. Now i dont know if this will work or if i forgot anything,
id love to try it but i could use the advice of more expierenced scammers for this. Since i dont wanna risk losing money for real! x_X


So any help/advice would be much apreciated!
Tips on how to make sure you cant get the account recalled on different ways would be nice aswell!
(thought about merging to battlenet, but saw its easy to unmerge)

Sounds like a simple math problem you should be able to figure out yourself. Buying a fully expanded WoW account would run you I guess $19.99 + $29.99 + $32.99 = $82.97. Transferring a character onto your new account would cost you another $25 I believe (the prices may vary). So your total cost for this would be $107.97. Throw in maybe a 10% margin for the risk you take since Paypal may not always side with you and maybe $15 to set up a new safe fake Paypal for each transaction - so we can call it $150 in cost to you to pull this off.

And what are you left with to show for it? An account with 1 level 80 on it that you then presumably plan on selling yourself for profit? Given the added risk of getting scammed yourself in the sales I do not know if this is really worth it. The capital investment just seems too large to me; first you have to shell over a few hundred dollars to "buy" the account, then you have to spend around $110 to get your account set up and the character transferred and then you have to resell it for a profit while your capital is tied up in a Paypal dispute which may or may not go your way. Oh, and to boot there is always a chance that Blizzard will decide to reverse your character transfer if the original account owner raises enough of a stink with them. So IMHO the risk is not worth the reward in your little scheme.

Right you have everything right apart from one problem an xfer to a new account isnt enough to keep the char if however you have an id scan then your alittle safer but you want to ban the orignal account and then dispute the money, you then need to hope blizzard wont unban his account for him.

A few tips:
After banning the orignal account and disputing the money wait for a few weeks before playing his char this is because you dont want to get attachted to his char and playign it and then he ends up getting it back.

Get yourself a good vpn for sending the money to him through paypal this is because when an Unauthorized dispute is done paypal will look into the ips and if your just using a public proxy they will know.

You need to be careful because if he is the OO of the account and has all info the chances are he will get his character back after banning it try convince him that his account is banned and you sent a webform in and blizzard wouldnt reopen it, then dispute the money.

Sounds like an old scam that was used a lot in the past. What you would want to do is ban the account you transfered characters from, than re-call the money. There is a chance that the character can be re-called back to this account.
