Banned for Account Selling

Well what happened is i was original owner of an account, sold the account, 90 days later recalled the characters and xfered the mage to a brand new account.

And now a few days later my mage on the new account been banned for account selling. I am unsure of the status of the druid as I let a friend have it and the old account, but why would my mage be banned if its on a new account?

In addition is there any way to protest the ban, despite the saying that it will not be re-opened under any circumstances?

That's the thing. You recalled your account right? So of course, the buyer is complaining to blizzard, maybe he also said that he has bought the account from you.

What blizzard does?

They check up the IP logs, and since you didn't perma banned your retrieved account, they have checked up also where characters has been transfered. And they saw on which account your mage was transfered, thus easy for them to ban that account.

All in all a loophole:

Blizzard did a investigation on your retrieved account, they saw that there was a transfer that occured between your newly made account and retrieved account, I don't know for what reasons blizzard bans you but at least they got a link between those accounts and can punish you in any way.

The number 1 rule if you are going to trade a character over is to ban the first account. That way, if the buyer tells Blizzard they will ignore him as the account is banned and they might think he is just there to moan.

But the reason it was banned, as Soul-Eater said, there was unexplained IP-Changes multiple times. You could have contacted Blizzard first also saying that you have moved house, changed the address on the account to your real address. That way, Blizzard knows the reason for the main IP used now is yours.

Secondly, I do not know a way for you to Dispute the ban. As you are the Original Owner I assume you have some form of ID. Get that in too Blizzard saying, you had no idea of the Account being hacked. You 'Apparently' got Key logged. Tell them that in an Email with you ID attached and they should belive you. Try to do this under TOR, because if they see the banned IP mailing about how he got hacked they are not going to buy any of your story.

Ya omg that is to crucial you have to ban the account!! So it is your own fault and you will not be able to get it back! Next time make sure you ban the account ;]
