Ok so I have a character that I have already got a name change on ( scammed ) but since it does not remove the person from friends list of other players on the server, they still know who I am and that I scammed that persons account.

IF I delete the character make a level 1 with the same name, and restore it, I know the character would have been removed from peoples friends list + I get a new name. IF I told the GM that I had misclicked the character I wanted to delete, would no problems arise? I know that there are restores left on the account and so far no problems with anyone reporting me.

Please help =] getting tired of not being able to find groups or talk in /trade

Tried Changing server? And if it doesnt work i got no other suggestions then telling a GM that everybody is really rude and u are going to start playing AoC if they dont stop it :P

They couldn't possibly know that it's still the same character. It's a different name and they will just be like WTF wo r u?

If you told a GM that you accidentally deleted the wrong character it might arouse suspicion. Because in order to delete a character, you have to click on it, and type in delete as a confirmation. Not sure how well that works since I've never done it.

They know its the same character because the gear is the same, and the person i scammed was a popular one on the server >>

And I could just say I was high/drunk because it is probable that I did it under the influence.

I highly doubt people will know that it's the scammed account. Most people don't know half of the people on their friends list. Well, that's how it is with me. If my friend changed his name, and I didn't see him, I would probably try adding him to my friends list again to see if that works.

One thing I can suggest is just make a character with that same name that the person had and maybe people will try adding him again. And if they do, he will be shown as OFFLINE since you never will play on him. This might get them to think that the person stopped playing, is taking a break, or plays on a different toon.

I dont think you guys relize, The guy made a level 1 and spammed trade/forums saying his account got hacked, he also added his character to his friends, when i changed the name, it was his only friend and therefor he knows what i changed it to, he then told everyone. I already said people already know that its scammed, Thats not what I was asking..

There is a chance that your character could have same name as before

I would recommend just doing a server transfer or an account + server transfer at the same time. If you delete a character there is no guarantee that you will get all your gear/gold etc back from blizzard. It's just a safe bet to spend the $25 to do a transfer. Or if you don't care that the guy is spreading things about you (who believes them anyways) then just stay where you're at and just keep on playing like nothing happened.

Another thing that might work is to get a trial account, delete the char, make a char with the same name on the trial account, and then restore the the real character. It will tell you to write a new name when you log in.

But Im not sure if the char gets removed from friends-list when they are deleted. I think they do, but Im not sure!
