[HELP] Mailing without memory writes

I'll be implementing mailing into my bot this weekend (only needs to mail gold, not items), and would like to know if there's a better way to do this without memory writes.

I intend on sending a mouseclick to click the mailbox, then sending keys to fill out name, TAB, fill out the next box, TAB, and then hit a macro which clicks the send button.

This should work, but I think it will be very unreliable. Is there any better way to do this without writing to memory?

Also, how easy is this to do with writing to memory? How about safety-wise, for somebody who knows next-to-nothing about memory writing?

I searched and couldn't find anything on the subject, by the way.

You'll have problems with fat cows and boomkins standing in the mailbox when implementing your method. So you can be sure that it is not that reliable

i think what you have to do is finding the mail box in the object linked list and spawn a thread in wows memory which calls interact on it.

the easiest way to do it is to look for the mailbox guid in the object manager, write the guid to the mouseover target offset and hit the "interact with mouseover target" key

Is it possible to send items from your bag via memory writes?

should be possible by calling LUA functions. remember the old mailing addons which allowed you to send multiple items via a batch process? since they were able you can do it also since LUA functions can be called from new threads written in WoW's memory after patching the TIB.

There are loads of mailbox Lua functions.
Check the api. The only thing you can't do with macros is actually open your mailbox. For that you'll either need to do an Interact() or some other magic. Everything else you can do with macros or /console || /run commands

ps. I'm not sure but you may be able to create an addon which can open the mailbox frame on command. Look at how to open the colour chooser frame.
