I just got on to the idea while writing a bot for another game..

Injection bots are quite possible I believe for an MMORPG such as WoW. Now I no longer have a WoW Account nor have I been developing much for it lately, but I do believe .dll injection could work quite nicely. I'm not exactly sure on how Warden is running things as of now but it might run a little while without blizzard taking to much notice to it. You could also write out neat things like WoWRadar and such through a simple .dll, as isxwow already does this.

Handling things would also be much easier because the bot is injected, so updating for patches would be minimal as you are using functions and not addresses to search things down.

Just a thought, what do you think?

Eeehm Alot of Hacks/Bots for WoW use dll injection. InnerSpace, Kynox's MeFix, etc. Nothing new :/

OpenBot does NOT use DLL injection, its a script, InnerSpace does the injection.

Besides, injection is nothing new, lots of hacks etc already do it, pretty pointless thread.

Just unlink your module from the PEB list/detour Module32First/Next - compare against your module, return false if necessary.

The most basic warden bypass you can get. You should be safe (now, memory scans are a different situation, and I'll leave that up to you)

You don`t need to use injection to write a Radar Program, i`ve already completed one that is only using TLS, so it`s Patch save and undetectable.

Well my entire thinking behind this is a complete bot, injected. I know innerspace and the MEFixes do it. But those are not bots like openbot or glider injected into WoW.

I'm not sure if you guys exactly caught that, but thats what I meant.

By injected into WoW, do you mean you just inject the dll and then the GUI shows up in the World of Warcraft window, either by a DirectX overlay or an addon? If so, bobbysing and Kynox already did something almost exactly like that (check gamedeception.net). Thing is, though, you could either spend a lot of time working on the DX/addon GUI or use an external GUI and spend a lot of time on anti-detection/bot method/attack function/etc. Seems to me that one's more important than the other. External GUIs can still use injected DLLs, though, so you get the best of both worlds: easy GUI management and injected DLL functionality (calling client functions, gathering information, etc.).
