Reputation: 214 Level up: 95%, 46 Points needed | | | | its kind of stupid though, you are paying 5k for a computer that you could probably get for a whole lot cheaper. But some people may be willing to pay the 5k just for the skin and the little perks you get when you buy it. In my opinion i would rather get a alienware laptop for half that with twice as much power.
Lets compare
Dell:
Processor: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T7500 (2.2GHz/800Mhz FSB, 4MB Cache)
Memory: 2GB2 Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz
Hard Drive: Speed: 160GB3 SATA Hard Drive (7200RPM)
Video Card: 512MB2 Dual NVIDIA® GeForce® 8700M GT with NVIDIA® SLI®
and a nice theme to make you feel special and fuzzy inside
Total cost: $4,499
Alienware:
Processor: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T7600 2.33GHz 4MB Cache 667MHz FSB
Memory: 2GB Dual Channel DDR2 SO-DIMM at 667MHz – 2 x 1024MB
Hard Drive: 320GB (160GB x 2) 7,200RPM (8MB Cache)
Video Card: 512MB NVIDIA® GeForce™ 8700M GT - Enables DirectX® 10 Graphics!
Total cost: $3,199
So lets see, they are pretty much the same, just the alienware processor and hard drive are a little better.
So what are those $500 doing then?!?!?! Oh, on a skin to make your laptop look pretty and nice.
If you think the 500 dollars is worth a skin that is put onto your laptop then i dont know who gives you money, because with $1,300 you can get a lot of stuff.
Ideas for stuff you can buy with $500.
1. Buy a 2 Epiczz accounts with crazy ass characters.
2. Buy your little brother a new computer.
3. Save money for your college fund
4. Buy your Girlfriend/wife something nice
those are a few of the things you can do with 500 dollars..
EDIT: As suicidity pointed out...its not $1,300 but actually 500 dollars...wow, thats still a lot of money

Has all the novels, in game pets, beta club membership, collectors edition upgrade, strategy guides, and a free 3D figure of your character....but $5000 is just too much......

those are a few of the things you can do with 1,300 dollars.. | You sir are a moron. The ram AND CPU In the dellienware computer (Yes, Dellienware - Dell owns Alienware.) are not as Good as the MX1730 laptop. The FSB on the dellienware CPU is at 667, a big difference, and the ram is running in dual channeled mode, slower that one single 2gb stick, it is also SO-DIMM not SDRAM, also makes it slower. The built in video is a chipset moron. They both enable DX10 and ALL 8xxx Series enable DX10 Support.
You sir are a moron. Your really probably spending $500 for custom WoW stuff. |
