Need tips on starting a new account. (Race/class/server/ect.)

Hey guys, about 8 months ago my WoW account was hacked. i tried to forget about it, but even with Halo 3 xbox360 gets boring and the lack of mature players or people with mics gives it a lack of communication.

So after guessing my MMOwned password 20 times i got it right to start this thread and rejoin this website and World of Warcraft.

First i want to know, over the last 8 months (my memory is hazy it was about a month and a half after TBC release) has world of warcraft gone uphill or downhill, i heard this leaked conversation which worried me a bit but it seemed like it could be easily faked. just to quote

Lead Designer : no programmer ? that mean we cannot change current WOW codebase, the only way we can prop this living corpse we called WOW is to keep adding more-of-the-same stuff. what do you think ?

Junior Designer : add more level as usual

Senior Designer : add new class but tell them its 'heroic' hehehe its heroic in name only because they dont have any advantage over old classes

Lazy Designer : just add more raid instance, more gear .. people wont complain, they will even defend us.. thank god for fanbois !!

Lead Designer : ok implement it all, dont add stuff thats hard to do, like 'housing' .. im going to take afternoon off now.. bbye cya at 2008

So this is making me reconsidor joining wow if its real, not because of housing but cause of the idea that blizzard is really like this and this is there plans of Future WoW.


But Firstoff what is the best server for the alliance, i dont think i could join horde and learn a whole other half of the world (other than the parts i spent raiding constantly).

Second, what is the best class, first i was looking at Shaman, being skilled at meele but effective at ranged magic combat while also having good armor seems like a perfect fighting style for me. but I hear there very mana/gear reliant and i dont know how good they can farm. also i dont know if ill love being a draenei, and ive ruled out going horde

Im also considoring mage, the dps is fun, but i dont know how much ill love the lack of health/armor but the AoE seems great for farming and running people through instances (i do it to make some cash from twinks and help out lower levels for free)

Im sort of considoring warlocks but i hate fighting cheaply and on my old paladin i HATED warlocks with a passion. i dont mean to offend warlocks but how good are they for fighting multiple targets or farming.

a NE hunter sounds nice, shadowmeld, traps, pets, fun to play and great farming i hear but how naturally powerfull are they assuming you have normal gear and are fairly good at playing your class.



So yeah those are the classes im considoring but if you guys will reccomend more thatd also be great. also please include more things i should know now.

Hmm, even though you said that you wouldn't play horde, I'll say...Male Undead Warrior! <3
Insane combination imho, I love it.
And yeah, the convo is pretty much fake, seeing as they are planning to add player housing in the future.
Oh, and if you're planning to start a NE/BE hunter...please...PLEASE don't name him Legolas, or any other twisted version of it. ; )

Legolas? the LOTR guy, LOL im not that unoriginal and im not a LOTR fanboy. anyway i dont think i like the limits of being a warrior, event though UD do have cool racial abilities. But anyway when blizzard said theyre adding housing that was just what they said to the public, god only knows what there saying under there breath

Next patch is 2.3, so you might want to consider reading some of the patch notes. Hunters are getting some nice buffs, you might want to take a read here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

I read about 1/4th of it, they finally freaking reduced crusader strike cooldown. sucks my paladin got stolen
but can we try to stay on topic plz i really need help, with my last server they seemed to have an unwritten class system, either your rich a rich craftsmen or salesmen (Kiczek if hes still there) or a poor guy who has tried about 30 gold making guides on this site and cant make a penny (me)

I suggest a hunter overall, come 2.3 it'll be buffed and add to the fact that your getting a new EXP/hr to the 20-60 area it'll be easy to level.

Also money wise they're probably the easiest to farm with. Since your stuck on it being an alliance your choices for hunters are either a NE or a Dwarf. I suggest dwarf for since the gun racials are now crit instead of +guns.

Course the NE has shadowmeld and dodge so it makes it great for those (bathroom breaks) by stealthing somewhere and taking care of business lol.

Now I suggest mining and skinning for your prof to get your money going, currently mining has been the top $ in wow due to three prof needing material from it. Skinning helps and you can farm for Cobra Scales which can give you a decent amount of gold.

I hope that helps yah ^_^ in the end its the player who decides what is fun and to level no matter what we say here.

Alright ive made up my mind (sort of) im going to make a male NE hunter, once he is level 20ish ill make a draenei shaman and keep him about 10-15 levels behind my hunter. once there both level 40ish ill make the last few classes i like and work on them when im bored (mage and warlock) but if anyone is on a server with about 60% Alliance that are skilled at raiding and have the upperhand in pvp both battleground and world pvp please tell me what it is.

I could never become a healing class again, i know its shadow but when i was a prot/ret pally i couldnt find a guild that wasnt up my ass about turning holy.

Choose the perfect race for your class, some racials might have been changed while you weren't playing, so review them once more before making a new character.
Take a good name that is easy to pronounce, later if you go raiding you want people to be able to pronounce your name but don't choose a name like brucewillis173 or xxnorrischuckxx
Choose a good server with high population, at lower levels it will be much easier to find groups on high pop servers than on low pop.
