Now, I have heard of people using trial accounts to use your patch edits, such as a goto GM Island or other things you would never do on a real account.. I even do this occasionally..
However..wouldn't your Main account be banned ALSO if your trial does?? I mean..does Blizz do IP Bans or whatever? And even if they didn't... they would still know your IPs.. like hey you made this account and these trials..
well..anyways.. perhaps legal action could also be taken..

Legal action could never be taken. Unless the trail and your main have the same acct info, then I don't believe you'll have a problem. I suppose that yes, theoretically Blizz could cross check the trial's IP with that of other accts and ban you that way but I doubt they'd go to the trouble and it doesn't seem to be an effective means of banning someone for hacking :P Multiple people can play WoW off the same IP so it may ban the wrong person. But then again, what does Blizz care? They already have your money, lol.

I don't think so. I was playing a trial account.. hacking.. all that jazz. They don't IP ban.. cause I got off my trial account and got on my main.. the main wasn't banned but the trial was. |

I got banned once on my main account and bought WoW all over again and made a new account. And I could just log in again. |

Blizzard have stated that they never ban by IP due to family members playing on the same computer (with different accounts) or people on the same networks playing. |

well if he bans your ip and you have logged on 10 friends account it's bai bai with them aswell. |

they dont check IP's me and demon and froogle and tina went on a flying hack run IN THE MIDDLE OF ORGRIMMAR i didnt use a proxy, just made a random trial, and my main hasnt been banned yet |

They don't do IP bans, No. HOWEVER, They can ban your main. I used a trial a while back for a d/c bug, And they flagged my IP and waited for me to log on my actual account, and BOOM...so yeah, Just be careful | |
