Mainly the reason I'm asking this is because I was at the Digital Life convention in NYC today (day 1 of 4) and there was a competition hosted by GGL Dell/Alienware for who could level the most in 30 minutes. My buddy Yoshi won today ($250) and can't compete tomorrow so I plan on playing.. he was a human rogue and almost got to level 6.. but still won (some pally buffed him and he did really well)
Either way, I want everyones opinion on best race/class to play (no tbc races unfortunately).

Rouges level the fastest at low levels because they attack fast and low level mobs have little hp. Mages are the same.

Tauren Warrior's are always easy leveling at the start, But I haven't played WoW for quite some time, So....

I agree with Ace. So if you go mage, go UD or gnome i suppose because they have increased int and such starting out. And rogue go with any class that has best starting str or agil (dunno if u really need that at lvl 1-6 tho) Nelfs have best starting agil i believe.

in my honest opinion, I can go from level 1-10 on a gnome mage in about an hour or so, so a gnome mage in 30 minutes can get to about level 7 or 8, if you have lucky respawns, no lag, and perfect conditions. Go gnome mage! |

+rep to whoever helps me win $250. | Honestly, I always level fastest with humans. Human warrior to be exact. They have that 2 handed sword specialization so less chance to miss at the low levels. When you first start, all the mobs are VERY compact. You have all those kobold camps ranging from 1-4 which are E-Z to take down (low health).

but before i go, I must remind you DO NOT ROLL A NELF
Many of the quest givers are scattered around and the spiders which are the highest level for the starting area is all the way on the other side of town. Not good for the fact that when your bags fill up, you have to go back and that is wasting precious time.  |

IMO go troll rogue and take advantage of their small health regen + berserk at low levels for efficiency.
1-10, you can't really compete against a rogue when it comes to leveling.
Might also help to memorize the first few steps of a good leveling guide<<<<
Mages come close, but not even hunters can hold a candle to low level rogue leveling until they get their pets. |

Anything with Draenei... I got to level 19 in one day as draenei(12-14hrs)

gnome mage=1-8 in half an hour if your familiar with gnomies
gnome rouge=1-8 same reason
Troll rouge=around 1-7in half an hour due to long running for quests and berserking helps

depends, if you know all of the quests in start area equally well hit Human rogue or mage due to the low running to quest objectives and back again. | | |
