well they do say if you go to fance and imercre ur self in a french speaking culture you pick it up like 20 X faster

I tried this, overall I thought it was good. As long as you tell people you're english beforehand I found that around 30% of people spoke clear english as well. A few were even able to use teamspeak to help my speaking.

What I'd say is that you need commitment - learning a second language is hard and it is especially frustrating when you just want to join a guild and can't because of the language barrier.

There are some people who just laugh at you for not speaking their language . It's sometimes hard, but your ignore list might get quite long.
