Reputation: 1 Level up: 32%, 272 Points needed | | | Realmlist Problems So I recently re-installed WoW due to me not playing it lately, and I've wanted to get on a private server. I edited the realmlist and SAVED it to the private server I want to play, and yet, it still connects me to blizzard's realms. I have checked and it is SAVED correctly. I'm not sure what to do.
PS: I run Vista if that has anything to do with this problem. Thanks for any suggestions/help. I've never had this problem before..

Then edit and save. |

Reputation: 1 Level up: 32%, 272 Points needed | | | | Yeah, I tried that too. Its almost as if the realmlist doesn't even matter, because I deleted it and tried to start WoW, and it still connected to the blizzard servers. Maybe there's another application/file that connects to their servers that I don't know about. |

Reputation: 1 Level up: 32%, 272 Points needed | | | | I've been searching on the internet for the past couple of days and I have found no one else with my problem. I tried getting on a private server on my laptop, which is running XP, and I'm still having the same problem.. Does anyone have a solution? |

Reputation: 19 Level up: 25%, 530 Points needed | | | | Okay i had this problem
These are the steps i took im on Vista aswel btw:
1. Go to Control Panel -> Folder options -> click view tab -> Make sure "Show hidden files" is ticked
If that dont work try
2. Runing repair tool
Still not
3. Re-install WoW to another hard drive is possible (this is what i had to do)
Hope i helped out mate but i think you gotta reinstal to a new place cos i had to reinstall mine to my D drive, also make sure you are Administrator of your computer, the reason i think this happens is becuase Vista has a stroke if you change some think in the C drive
+ dnt use launcher sets ur realmlist back to retail :P go to ur folder and cick the WoW not launcher
