I've searched the site up and down and I can only find an old one, that multiple people have found out doesn't work anymore, that is deleting your character and creating a new one with the same name, then putting into a GM to get the deleted character restored.
Please help me! I want to keep him on the same server and I want to avoid the $10 name change >< which is rather ridiculous.
Any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you! |

I know of one way it can be done..
However. the name MUST be something that "Someone" could report you for.
I usd to have a Tauren Warrior named Bigcritties, and although I thought it was a super pimpin name, I found that in the long run I was a better tank than I was DPS, so I wanted a name change...
What I did was get a few people I know to report me .. sounds silly, but they can report it as offensive, and if more than 1 person does this (Not at the same time).. you will get flagged for a name change. Only thing I suggest.. is that you DON'T talk about it in game... use MSN, or Vent. That way there is NO paper trail. (I don't think that it's a big issue. but if your serious about it.. you might just go with the "better safe than sorry approach".)
Now I happily throw my face at raid bosses as "Cownan" .. :P (much more fitting imo.)

Reputation: 3 Level up: 98%, 10 Points needed | | | im not sure if u can get a name change with out any cost, but i have worked out lik many ppl i am guessin that when u pay for a charater xfer u make a alt on the realm u want ur MAIN to go to, and name it the same as ur MAIN e.g ur main is called mansellboi and u wanna change this name for free, make a alt on the new realm called mansellboi, therefore when u xfer ur MAIN over to the new realm ur alt has the same name as ur MAIN therefore ur MAIN gets a free name change  , this works very well with accounts that have being scammed or wat not + rep if this help thanks, im trying to get out of leacher  lol.

2) wait and have someone (eg a friend) create a name of the deleted character asap on his account
3) have your character restored by a gm and since your old name i occupied by another character you may choose another one on your next login |

The name of the new character should contain a "þ" (right ALT+T or ALT+0254 OR copy this).
For example: aþocalypse
Log in, you will get a popup saying you need to change the characters name, because the "þ" is not allowed.
Simply type something else that contains a þ :P þill for example, and it will be accepted.
Every week after server updates, your character will be flagged for namechange, so every week = free namechange.

Can still be done, However .. you have to level the toon to level 10 or 12 I believe.

Reputation: 146 | | | UPDATE! þ No longer works. Just found out when I tried to rename my character today from "þ(X)" to "þ(Y)"
(X) (Y) = Variables
This probably hasn't worked for some time, just figured I'd letcha know. | |
