Reputation: 25 Level up: 55%, 181 Points needed | | | Safety in selling gold, factors in ban chance? I'm wondering what determines the likelihood of an account getting banned when selling gold.
One website (mmoexchange) says:
"# Never send gold from a level one char.
# Always make WoW mail to appear as if you are sending to some one you know.
# Don't send more then a couple orders from the same char a day.
# If the player is online offer F2F trade."
A top question for me is whether Blizzard will notice accounts with more than a certain ratio of gold to max character level. Though I don't use level 1s, I normally sell gold on an account with only level 2 to level 6 characters. Will exceeding 10000 gold sold in one day cause high risk? 20000?
Even in my limited experience, I've started to learn useful things like that Blizzard apparently does not IP ban, as I've gotten one account banned while another on the same IP and computer is still fine.
So what have others learned in their experience? When have you sold gold and gotten a ban versus when without a ban? | Donate to remove ads, get your "DONATOR title, and get access to the MMOwned community's elite Shoutbawx.

They just went like "gold rdy?" and I was like "Yeah hold on."
No ban. |

I also know of guys who have sold more gold then that over an assortment of random ass levels and never seen mail from blizzard. To be safe I would do as the site recommends. Personally I think mail selling is risky business, so I would recommend f2f trades all the time, especially for large sums. |

If they see a large sum going to some nobody character they may confront you or just take action. I recommend F2F but even thats risky. So best bet is just dont do it. |

Bought over 100k gold in the course of a year and never had any ban or warning. | |
