Scammed Account Question

So I scammed 2 accounts earlier. It was perfectly done, double changed e-mail after recovering the e-mail, merged it with a fresh battle.net account. Canceled subscription, server transferred the character.

Now, a few hours later, it says that there is no account merged with "that battle.net" account. When I go to battle.net, I log into the e-mail, but there are no accounts merged.

How can I have possibly lost the scammed accounts? How could they have recovered it if I changed possibly everything?

My guess is that the victim sent his ID

or called blizzard and confirmed

You don't, if they send in their ID you can't prevent them from doing so.
