Private servers are laggy, less stable and annoyingly you must pay real money or vote for the server in stupid TOP 100 sites to get the best epix.
Why do people play on them? They are free, but playing real WoW is also free (or even profitable) if you sell some gold each month. |

not all priv servers are shitty... world of chris used to be the shit.. than it got popular and nubzorrexs attacked it |

For people who cannot afford retail,they can play the game on private server
I just got into private servers for exploration,there to playing around with
GM powers,and then to developing prvate server databases for fun. |

Retail is worth a try
I play private servers because of the small communities and to experience some of the custom instances avalible. Private servers are very nice to have if you want to test out your dps in diff specs/gear too

People (most of them) go to private servers to try things that wouldn't be possible at official servers, like mass walking speed, no cooldowns, mass damages...
I dont like private servers because most of them have lag and lots of bugs. |

Reputation: 1 | | | Private servers just have this feeling of stickin it to blizz lol. One of the thing I was able to do in the past with them was you could donate to get all the best gear right away. |
