The price you got to pay your a gamecard (wich iam doing) is kinda lazy, well its not that expensive for 2months but anyways.. For guild wars you just pay for the game once. But offcours World Of Warcraft is more popular and bigger then Guild Wars. WOW got more then 10 millions player wile Guild Wars got like.. well i dno But, before i buy Guild Wars i wonder.. is it worth to play?
Sorry for bad spellings.. And sorry if this is the wrong section
Thanks

anyway, give GW a try, I gave out all my 3 buddykeys, but hey, if you got the social skillz, try a GW fan forum. |

Guild Wars focuses on two routes. Story or PvP. I personally prefer story as leveling to 20 (max level) isn't hard at all. Guild Wars, allows you to play storymode, online. Meaning you can grab a group of people go complete missions and etc. And i'd take its pvp over wow's anyday. I'd seriously consider trying it. One downside, no mounts but on the nightfall campaign you can play as these sand worms that pwn totally.
Btw, WoW no longer has 8-10 million subscribers. As that dude said alot went to Age of Conan. WoW seriously needs to up there graphics, they look like crap compared to AoC. |

In fact, the PvP in GW is probably a lot more enjoyable but only if you find a great guild to play it with. It requires a lot of planning to get a team working (there are LOTS of possible character builds, and from what I know the guild vs guild matches are still 8v8 so there are a lot of different team combinations available). The actual match can be a bit slower-paced than in WoW and the controls are a bit slow. The problem for many is that you can't jump at all. The game is not very expensive so you might want to try it out.
Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot about the campaign totally. It has a story and it's fun to do objectives with teammates rather than just advance from boss to another, but I didn't find the plot very interesting. Great training for PvP though. |

Wow isnt made for the hardcore gamer, its meant for the ppl who just want to play a online role playing game that every computer can run.
And AoC will fail / alot of ppl are going to play WAR |

If you got a friend who plays GW it's a lot more fun than WoW.
I have quit both WoW and GW now, but I'm going to start up again when WotLK and Guild Wars 2 comes out |

Reputation: 2 | | | i have seen screenshots and videos of AoC and they don't look special or better than WoW, yes they are more realistic but from what i have seen they don't look better, they have more blood i think that's why they say it has better graphics, or maybe its because you can hear the birds sing.
there's a monster made of blood in a fountain of blood, that's what it makes AoC so great ?? |

Reputation: 1 Level up: 62%, 154 Points needed | | | I played Guild Wars for about half a year and saw WoW at a GameStop and gave it a shot. I never really played GWars again but I'm pretty sure I'd still be playing it. I'll just go ahead and list a few pros and cons since everyone loves lists. Pros:
*Beautiful Scenery
*Great soundtrack
*Balanced classes, if you know what you're doing you will be great in PvP
*Tons of PvE content, there are close to 400something abilities you can get
*Dual Class system which is pretty self-explanatory
*Some argue that the map is bigger than Azeroth, I never got to fully explore it but I believe that's about right
*Instant travel to towns and outposts via the map
*The only PvP is instanced, since some consider that a blessing
*Heavy emphasis on grouping if you enjoy being with people
*You can change your second class in towns at will after you Ascend, or hit level 20 and do a destiny quest
*Awesome lore in the form of cutscenes at the beginning and end of story quests
*Giant guild halls to have guild battles in Cons:
*EVERYTHING is instanced. Towns, fighting zones, PvP
*Small player base. I would say maybe a few thousand online during prime time. That added onto everything split up can make getting a group a bit of a headache if you aren't in a guild
*If you fight in the Hall of the Greats (fight to be the champion worldwide) and don't have a pre formed group, you will be steam rolled by Korean/American top groups
*Instanced PvP only there's no free roam ganking or even a dueling system
*At a certain point in the game you have to have a group and then after too. This means that once you hit a certain zones don't except to do anything but sit around unless you group up
*Three full priced expansion packs. None are necessary but if you're like me, you just have to have the full game. Two of them have two new classes each and one of them is just a PvE expansion that adds a new continent
*Great machinima oppertunities. If you're a director, I'd suggest this game for the very nice graphics
Ok I completely forgot to mention the henchman system. I'm sorry but it's 4 am so I'm not thinking well.
Henchmen are extra party members you can grab in towns if you want to fill a party or just go "solo". They have all the base classes tank, healer, support, dps, etc. The game can be completely played with just henchmen but I never really used them. I suppose that's why I forgot about them.
Hero classes are added in the Nightfall campaign. They are like henchmen only you can choose their skills. The skills they have is based on what skills you have unlocked. You can also change the second class of these making it very flexible but once again I never used them much because I always did PvE runs with my guild.
All in all, it's a nice game if you don't mind small group play and lots of instances. I'd rate it a 7.5/10 just for nostalgia.
edit: I can give you a buddy key if you'd like to try. Pm me your email and I'll send you one
Edit again Adding in some pretty colors so it's not a wall of gray text
