in chat and stuff.. |

cant do it anymore, if you try and link a fake item you will just get DC from wow. |

Using loot link, you can still link "Uber" items if they spawn, I often advert a Free [Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker] (BoP of course) to see what newbs respond. This may be used for seeking out candidates for various scams.

One day, I'll have to write a guide about all the different ways I figure out who the easy marks are... I'm sure someones cooking one up behind my back right now :P |

I think if an addon was linked/added before a certain patch a while ago you're still allowed to link the items. Not too sure though  | |
