Banwave:
Blizzard gathers around a certain period of time accounts like botters or cheatorz.
Then from one day to another they ban all of them.Permanently.

Dont be afraid, you wont get banned.

Already explained, but eh.

Blizzard gathers reports from players who have seen hackers/bots/scammers etc, and after an investigation, the account gets flagged if it breaks the policy. Blizzard is sneaky, so they won't ban affected accounts immediately, they gather a couple of hundreds of accounts - then they push da button.

Kapoof - All accounts flagged gets terminated and a banwave has been born!

This is a great method used by Blizzard to scare away people from doing illegal things in the game.
