so, i was checking out the model editing section and found this, [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

and i was thinking what if theres a way to change the hex or whatever its called in the hex editor to change how much an item vendors for...

if anyone whos good with that kind of thing figures out would probably get major rep

Nope, won't work. It's all asthetic, just for looks. Even though the model is changed, you won't get the benefits of the HWL axe (in that example you referenced), it's just so your character looks like it has that item to you. It won't change the appearance for anyone else, it's simply a client side model edit.

The amount an item vendors for is all stored server side, and you can't edit a single bit of that code. Well, I suppose you could, but it would take some serious haxing into Blizz, and a potential visit from the FBI.. =p

well! are we talking private or live servers, because if its live, it used to be possible using WPE pro but unfortunatly for us, that was patched out in 1.12.1 and even then, the only possible way you could buy one item and get another (example buy an acorn, get a thunderfury) was to pay full price for it which was probibly really expensive but then again, getting an item like sulferas is worth any price, and if it was a private server, then yes, you can... in a way, search up WPE pro and theres a walkthrough there, yeah

Who says Packet Editing is patched, its not, noone likes sharing though =)

Yeah, I doubt it's actually fixed, it might have been, but probly still possible, just no one who knows it wants to tell :P
