WoTLK installation issues -
05-26-2008
I have downloaded the WoTLK alpha installer in hopes of checking it out, but I can't seem to actually get it to install. When I open it (This is the installer for Mac if that makes any difference), it tells me that I don't have a copy of WoW:BC on my computer, which I obviously do. What am I doing wrong?

So, I have a Windows side downloader running, and it's actually working. I read on a thread here, that even though the downloader is an exe file, I will still get mac and windows side installers when I am done, is this correct?
If not, can someone give me a link with a working link an enUS OS X WoTLK installer? I read through that huge thread (with like 100 pages), and did some searching and I still can't find on that works.
The one from ElDupa's thread does NOT work for me. Is this the only one there is?

Problem solved (yay!)
Ok, for you two, who have had the same problem as me, here is what to do:
Go get a copy of your region's *downloader*, not the "Play WoW-WoTLK", but rather the FF-*region*-downloader
(I have only found .exe files of these downloaders, so unfortunately for mac users, you have to put in a little extra effort. You need access to Windows, so vmware, bootcamp, or a seperate computer, which you should be able to transfer files quickly from, to be able to proceed)
Allow the downloader to download that huge file, which will most likely chew up a lot of time, so go do something else.
You will then be able to install, and it won't ask you to have another copy of WoW.
I am not even sure it uses ANY files from your previous WoW, as mine is installing into a different folder called "Wrath of the Lich King".
Hope this helps at least the other two people having trouble.
EDIT: Downloaders come from this thread. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
**Don't go for the first two files, get one of the rapidshare ones, if you were having trouble with it detecting your WoW.
