Reputation: 121 Level up: 84%, 151 Points needed | | | | +rep you you help me [technical] So, I (attempt to) play wow on my desktop through a wireless internet connection. I Have comcast 6MB/S. I have disabled my firewall and opened the ports on my router. If I make a new character I usually start out with 300 M/S, Which is still playable all be it a little bit higher than I would like to see it. however, If I go near anybody My latency jumps up to ~10000 M/S and I get disconnected, I tested this on three different servers and I dont know what I can do further than this. So... any ideas? Im going through withdraws.
I play xbox live through the computer without lag at all. When I hover over my wireless connection it alsways says "54MB/S" and "Signal Strength: Excellent" So im confused... | Donate to remove ads, get your "DONATOR title, and get access to the MMOwned community's elite Shoutbawx.

Those are the first things that I would check. |

You are probably able to play xbox live since the games choose hosts. |

Reputation: 2 | | | Why can't you just play wired? If you have a wireless router, run a cable from your router to your PC. |

Reputation: 3 | | | Sounds like your upstream is borked somehow, whenever it's trying to load data off another player it's getting bogged down. I'd suggest checking the Blizzard support site for some tips on wireless connectivity, as I'm sure they have some.
Troubleshoot your problem by plugging in Wired, see if the problem persists. If it doesn't, your router might need a firmware upgrade. |
