It is possible to get ontop of a elwynn forest trees using the darkmoon faire cannon. I guess you could just dispel the buff but the way i go is to Iceblock while above the tree (way easier). Just iceblock roughly above the tree and steer at any direction needed, biggest challenge is navigating since the leaves block the view and the tree have no skin from above, but you can still stand on it. Just watch out for the branches since they stop colliding when going too far out. I regret not being able to post screenshots.

im not a mage expert but i remember my friend saying that ice block now moves when you fall, just saying

You now continue to move when doing anything that used to make you stop, such as logging out, iceblocking, dying, etc.
